  • [Help]: 600cc - 800CC in India

Now when all the big brands are targeting Indian market, i was wondering if we'll ever see the 600 -800cc in India.

Practically i'm looking for a ride for myself and not able to freeze on any specific one. Shuffling between the existing options - but not forgetting that this will be my 1st time on SBK. For a beginner in this segment, will liter bike be OK??

Per our motor vehicle regulation you cannot import less than 800 cc then how come Ducati is offering (monster) in 600 category, why not other players explore the potentials of offering gsx6r, gsx750r, CBR 600rr and others?? This can seriously help us save some more Lacs in our pocket and get the pleasure of riding SBKs.

Can any of you help me with this unanswered question.. and suggest if i should wait for a year more and expect things changing..

Well, looking at your avatar picture, the message of custom user title reads as "Its not Hearbeat, its the THUMP that you feel". If this is true then you can very well settle for any of the HD's that should be available by mid of this year (booking starts April 2010)

Ofcourse, the more you wait the more choices you'll have & it also comes with more of confusions too

Ducati 600 is not yet on the shelves. They were planning to get it after homologation!

If you have a decent amount of riding experience under your belt, read 5K-10K kms of riding, then buying a litre class should not be a problem provided you have a sane head on stable shoulders. (All puns intended!)
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

            Hey Ken

I went o GGN Ducati shwroom and they confirmed that they are taking the bookings. However i agree that Ducati India is still working with ARAI Pune in getting the clearance.

Regarding the Riding Ex. I have been riding bikes from 2001, its just my stars which are keeping me away form 2 wheels form sometime. Also my concern was aroud the bhp and throttle response from 1K + -bikes. Will it be comfortable to control these beasts or should i wait and watch till some 600-800 less bhp arrives in India.

            Also considering couple of facts
            - 600-800 response similar to litre ones
            - And there are no "GOOD" roads in India to use the full power of these bikes (Unless you want to bet your life)
