  • Old Karizma engine work

    Hi all,

My old karizma, 2003 model just finished some 83000kms and in a week I will be opening up the engine to change the internal parts like new piston kit, couple of brakes, bearings and small small stuff.

I would like to know if anyone has taken such a chance and gone to Leh. I mean is it suitable to take the zma long distance after doing such an engine work!!

karizma is a tough bike, but i would suggest you that, after making all the necessary changes and getting parts installed, its better to ride slow coz the new pistons will need to set, it might take 3500 to 4000 kms for the pistons to set in, and till then you will have to be very careful with, once every thing is set then u can ride as you used to, but still ride safe and wear a helmer brother!! cheers to biking and cheers to a new restored engine!!

After all the necessary engine work, you can take the bike anywhere including Leh. Just do a run-in like you would do for a new bike, check it properly and take it to leh!

hey bro overhauling gives you new bike with new parts installed, bike will be more capable than now, same way you should give some extra care to the engine, with regular service and riding 40-50 speed limit up to some 3000- 4000 km will be enough ..........
