  • [Help]: Change of carburettor in RX100

    hey guys,
    I am running a rx-100 1986.
I recently got the engine built.
got the connecting rod changed, some bearings and clutch assembly changed.
Yet finishing the running in of the engine.
My mech told me that ma carbs life has gone so he told to change the carb..
I am planning to change it to a 6 speed carb.
I also have got the engine ported by 2mm , which is 1mm on inlet and 1mm on outlet.
    ma bore size is 115..
Ma plans are to get into autocross with this bike.
Will changing the carb to a 6 speeb carb help me.??
OR will it deliver more power only because of this and keep over shooting in corners..

to be more specific the carb is of a rx-king which was released abroad but not in India.

    Please mods. Help me out.

If I were you, I would get a second opinion from a different mech or from a Y.A.S.S apart from XBHP

I hope you trusted your mech when he said the above, unless you'd verified it by yourself. Pls let me know if I'm wrong here.

Somewhere I remember reading it as 110, may be I'm wrong.

A flat slide wud be better for drags if i am rite. i wudn prefer over shoots of the bike when accelerating quickly on corners.

^^^I've no intentions to comment anything more apart from this. I'm sorry that I have no knowledge on carbs & RX anymore; I leave it to other senior people to recommend one for you. Good Luck.

I am really sorry to upset you. When I asked many mechs they told me the same which is - a flat slide is most commonly used for circuit races and drags. but not for autocross.
Please do help me on this.
