i don know which part it is i wud be posting pics of it. I apologize beforehand for poor quality of pics taken from my phone(dont have a cam). is it happening because of the petrol leak or is something else the reason.and which is the rusted part? or is it just that the paint has come off?? pls advise

rtr fi rust problem
hey guys i am facing a prob in my rtr fi . I bought it in sep 2008 and it has clocked 10000kms. a few days ago petrol started leaking from the bike whenever i used to start the bike the SC guys said some pipe from the fuel pump was faulty and they replaced it with a new one . today i saw some rust on my bike its below the place where the seat and the fuel tank meet. its behind d engine

remove the seat/tank and all other removable parts. Take a sand paper and sand off all and as many traces of rust you can find. Get a black spray paint can, and spray the entire area. If you need to mask off some regions, just put some newspaper in the adjoining areas. This should keep rust away.

There is a good solution for the rust on your bike, its called WD-40, its a spray can, its s easily available in most of the hardware shops in most of the cities, and its very good in removing rust and also prevents rust from coming again for some time. i have personally used it in removing the rust from the chain cover, to rims to chasis etc on my RD, and its works beautifully. hope it helps you as well!!!

. should i look for any particular brand??? how much does 1 can cost??
