ok... ya i know the performace auto guy...he is good at it...mpfi is an expensive affair but...modifing a carburatted car is easy than a mpfi one....why dont u sell off your zen and take a second hand esteem(carburatted) it can produce 120+ bhp!!

okkk.... nav... the normal rally esteem produces 100+bhp. this includes boring of engine and putting over size pistons, and a lot more things like increasing valve sizes, free flow exhaust etc etc...

now for 120+ bhp as far as i know it includes boring and fitting oversize high performace pistons, double carburettors(jets have to be changed) high performace gears, bearings, free flow exhausts etc etc... a few months back this costed 2 lakhs+ !!!

go for a sports exhaust(not a free flow) you will be able to feel the difference.

cool man. I think investing 2lakh in an old esteem is worth to gain that much performance. 120+bhp man this esteem will kick best of indian cars.

yup budyy....a good stainless steel imported sports exhaust will cost Rs.50,000+ btw how old is your esteem?? if it is before 98 model than you wont be able to pump out more than 90 bhp.

I have done 140 on pune mumbai expressway. Pickup is quiet ok. Since the car has a bit worn tyres handling is not very good at high speeds.

so 140 is the max it went upto?? does the steering wobble??? how is the condition of the body??
nav my zen can go way more than 180 kmph i know dat.. but anything more than 175 is very dangerous... it wobbles....it shakes.... lack of aerodynamics(chances of toppling over!!)every time i do 170+ the vehicle has to be thoroughly checked.....in my case all the nuts get loose!!!

firstly.....u need a 99 or 2000 yr engine..... no point doing it on a 96 model engine.

bunny point for you: my uncle who owns a ford ikon 1.6 (in fact used to own) was doing 190 kmph on the dnd flyway...due to lack of aerodynamics....oh my.... the car flipped over at 190.... though my uncle is still recovering now....the car was a in a wreck!! bunny pls dont try high speeds on your ikon.

                        krome u r right
my friend also had a major acident on the expressway near pune and he was doing just 150 in his 1.6 ikon
i guess diesels are a lot better for high speed RUNS

                          hey navendu bhai
instead of costly jobs , try this simple thing
free flow exhaust( dont remove the converter, u may get a little more performance and lot more sound, but PLEASE think of the enviroment!) better air filters (ie K&N FILTERS ) try these for ur fiero also , i wanted to get one for my bullet/elim ,but it needs regular cleaning(for bikes) which i dont think i will i have time to do
better tyres(wider , like the ones on the new esteem velocity)
all this at the max may cost u around 40k , put up a tachometer also
but will give u wonderful performance plus a increase in mileage!
and u wont have any probs while selling off ur car

live to ride, ride to eliminate!!

krome. The car was stable, may be due to the fact that it was having 5persons in it

I could have gone more but due to not so good condition of tyres I didn't try. BTW I just touched 140 once..rest all journey was at 80-90, u know old tyres are not safe at high speed on cement surface.
