    Hi folks,

Can u post about formalities and costs involved in transferring bike from Gurgaon to Chennai. I have a Honda Stunner which is 1 yr old. Is it wise to take it with me to Chennai or sell it off here n get a new bike in Chennai?

      * First of all you have to take NOC from Gugaon RTO and you have to surrender your registration number there.NOC is a certificate that assigning by your RTO to ensure that there is no accident cases against you and your vehicle and vehicle is ready to go out of state permanently. In Chennai you have to apply for new registration along with that NOC then Chennai RTO will provide you new reg number*

**: 1.NOC is only required if you want to register your bike in Chennai.Better to change the registration other ways Chennai police always stop you and-
they will check your original reg book since they don't like any other state's
      vehicle roaming around in Chennai.
      2. You have to pay the road tax in Chennai. Its better to take life time tax or you can take one year tax that is your option.
      3. Total it will cost you around 4500-5000(Including Lifetime Tax and registration)

      4. Change registration number in Insurance policy of your bike. For this you have to approach any insurance agent they will inspect your bike's engine number and chassis number to put a new registration number in policy cover note(This will cost you extra)

Better to go to your RTO and find the details there . The procedure may change time to time
