  • [Help]: Problem of my R1

Hi friends, My 2008 R1 has some starting problem it is like The bike starts normally when it is cold but once it is hot say after riding 2-3 kms if I switch off the engine it is not starting again. This happens every time, only way is to cool the bike again till the temperature drops like 50 dgree.
It seems like it's not gaining the rpm.At that particular time if I open the throttle it starts but it turns off instantly once I close the throttle,so it's really annoying me lot. PLZ HELP

ps- The air filter is in good condition.
The coolant is ok max goes to 106 dgree in traffic

May be you are facing vaccum lock in piston or fuel lines.

ya Yamaha India too told me that it could be due to vacum adjustment in fuel lines, is it serious? how does this happens? Sadly in Kolkata the Yamaha guys don't know how to solve it, any suggestion???????

Fuel in the lines and piston area evaporate due to excessive heat and then vaccum is created(rough idea). Try opening the fuel lid when the bike stops and then again close it, then start the bike. This technique works for vaccum lock in fuel tank.

No it happens even after refueling the bike in pump, after opening and closing the lead, last time battery drained cause of this.

                    Yeah! Nice to know that!

Do give us details of how he went about doing this.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

That is a weird one.. Normally overheating would cut off the engine only over 100 deg C.. Atleast on my bike, the fan comes on at that temp.. but its never got that high that the engine cuts off. So its most definitely a problem elsewhere.

Keep us posted on the result of the testing..
