Swing arm swap

Stability is not due to a single factor alone. So just swapping the swing arm will not give you better handling and also it may/may not require many mods !Originally posted by pavanchirmade View PostI have a P180UG3, and I was wondering if the bike would feel much more stable if the swing arm is swapped with a longer swing arm, say the oval one from the UGIV or the P200. Also I'd like to know the approx cost of the same and whether it is a straight fit to the UG3."The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat" - Lily Tomlin

Changing the swingarm wont make the bike ""stable" , i have a UGIII, it is stable enough, if your bike is not then go for a suspension overhaul(front forks might need attention after 20K kms) , else if you need more "stability" get a slightly broader tyre, a 120/80 Zapper will do the job well. Changing the swingarm alone wont result in stability

The front suspension was overhauled at 10000kms when the steering cone set was replaced. The mech suggested changing the fork oil.I agreed and he changed it. But since then the front suspension has become stiffer. I think handling wise that's a good thing as it bottoms out less. But the bike still seems a bit unstable at higher speeds. As in I'll fall if I move even slightly. Same is not the case with the 200. Maybe its because it has got fatter rear tyre or even the longer swingarm. AFAIK longer swingarms or longer wheelbases provide more striaghtline stability....... right?
Any ideas?Last edited by pavanchirmade; 06-01-2010, 12:09 PM.
