  • Right main jet for pulsar 200

    Hi All

My pulsar 200 have completed 17000 kms. I have installed K&N RC 1100 for better torque but the result is it heats up too much. I know I have to upjet my carb to resolve this but dont know the right jet size.

Please advise which jet size I should use.

Instead Can I change my carb to bigger one if yes what are the options.

    Please suggest..

hey mate there cannot be a recommended jet size which you can plug and play u will have to use different jets to understand which one suits ur needs and riding style......

Though FYI I have the main jet size as 125 with the K&N R-1060.
        X=need for more

thanx mate, for the reply. I've been waiting for a reply since I posted this query.

As you said, yes I know there cannot be a recommended jet size, but I was wondering if any one could share their experiences.
You have a 125 main jet (from zma I guess) with K&N RC 1060.
Can you provide a little more info abt your bike's performance,
like how much rpm friedly it is and how does 125 size main jet suit your riding style?

my riding style is mixed. I stay in 5000-7000 rpm in city & on the highway I'm ripping it most of the time.

          Thanx in advance

The bike is running smooth with the 125 jet and R1060. The pick up has increased however the bike is getting locked at the top speed of 120kmp so now i have changed the rear sprocket to that of 220 with 37 teeth instead of 38 on the stock P200. So I am back with the trial and error method should have the best result in next 2 days....

BTW I would suggest that you can also try the 117.5 and 118 main jet with K&N i have heard they match well for many people....

At what RPM your bike stucks exactly?

The bike sucks @ 6k to 8k rpm and is stuck at 8 k rpm.
BTW i have dropped the 37 teeth sprocket and gone for 40 teeth sprocket with 120 main jet. The bike is much better now however need to check the top end now...

I think 125 is too big for 200's carb with RC1060.
How did you connected the k&n? Directly to carb's mouth or inside air filter box?

you said that your bike sucks @ 6k to 8k rpm and stucks at 8000.
that should't happen with a revvy bike like 200. Its good that you've changed your main jet to 120. Tell me how's your bike's power delivery & rpm now?

BTW I'm trying to find a bigger aftermarket carburator as I need better top end.
