Need Help for a south India tour.

I have planned to go for coorg from coimbatore but i don't know the way which can i select so please guide me to go for coorg.

And this is the way shown in the google maps.
Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India to Madikeri, Karnataka, India - Google Maps

And my questions are
1.Is this route safe and good route?
2.Or is there any better route available?

Please help me and thanks in advance
