  • whats the difference between 90 octane and 95 octane petrol??

hi guys.... i get a bit confused when i go to the petrol station for a fuel refil....
here at the IOC petrol sheds you find different grades of petrol u find the 90 octane and 90 premium, and u find the 95 octane and 95 premium.... ive been using the 90 octane normal petrol so far on my fzs and it seems to be ok but today i used the 90 octane premium thinking it was super petrol which is known to be cleaner i guess...
but what is the real difference between 90 octane and 95 octane and is it of any harm if i use 95 octane now and how will it increase or affect the performance of the bike and engine functioning and plsss do let me specifcally if this is of any harm or not.....
will clear a big doubt in my head thanks alot in advance!!

I dont have any professional know how about this...but I remember reading in Chemistry in school that Pertol has two different compounds in it and the quality of pertol is decided as 70-30, 80-20, 90-10, 95-5 mixtures the petorl having higher composition of octane is called white petrol and is used as aviation fuel... this is all I know but i dont know what difference it makes in a engine better some on clarify it......

Octane number is a parameter used to determine and differentiate quality of petrol , higher the octane number better is the petrol .

And its taken with reference to ISO-Octane , hence the name " Octane " number comes

Also mixing two differnt octane fuels , will not cause any problems as at the end of the day they are fuels only and the octane nuber would be the Average of Both (yeah rally if that mattered to you )
