  • Pls help!!!Fzs- small crash, hard wheel movement and hot brake disk!!

Guys today is really a bad day... on my way home a van cut across me and its tail hit me on the right side handle bar of my Fzs and it initially turned towards the left and i hit a wall actually crashing on to it and the bike fell luckily i escaped no injuries.. .but when i got back on the bike i noticed the scratches on the left handle, my clutch lever slightly bent and my left view mirror broken.... i rode back home and when i put down the side stand it broke and the spring came off... i washed the bike to take it to the service station tomorrow... but just now i went for a test ride to see if the bike is riding perfectly... but it looks like a bigger mess piercing a hole in my heart ... i can hear a scratchy sound from the front wheel and when u hold the front brakes it feels soft and then all of a sudden tight and then soft again and goes on... i came back home... and when i rotate the front wheel it gets stuck at one point and then loosens when it spins and then harder to turn again, i also noticed the brake disk was really hot.... im really afraid now... i cant judge if the rim is crooked or the brake disk is crooked... but the disc is a bit wobbly...
Ill be taking it to the dealer tomorrow... i want to know if this front wheel scenario can be fixed or if i have to replace the disk and other parts....

Im really worried now and also ive got my exams in 2 days... its really killing me also the fact its my first bike and not done even 1000 kms yet!!!

Please help me guys!!! thanks alot!!!

sounds like a bent disc. you need to put the bike on main stand, and try and rotate the front wheel and see if the disc is warped.

Better to go for insurance it will cover 90% of the expenses, and go for replacement, dont agree to any repair. this will keep your bike as good as new

well yeah im havin problems with my insurance company they say i need a police report and crapp scene... anyway i got an estimate... new rim= 16000 Lkr, disk=7000 lkr, mirror=1500, clutch handle=700, left panel=1500... it all ads to some 36000 lkr to bring the bike back to new....

Key- Lkr(Srilankan rupees)- to conver to to indian rupees divide it by 3...

my heads nt wrkin at all... fingers crossed that my insurance ppl will agree!!!

hey guys , what is the percentage of damage cost you must have on the new bike price to do a full insurance claim on the bike?

^^ when the bike is irrecoverable by repair/replacement, and cost of repair/replacement is more than the IDV of the bike.

Plz dont worry Dude now jus check as per the estimate given by the service centre do all the things need replacement.........

I have also gone through a similar crash and my front wheel was not rotating freely but it was not the disk brake that was bent but there was some issue in the Disc brake caliper and that was replaced accordingly.

The rear view mirror and all can be replaced at the later satge if ur insurance co is not helping

Dude, 90% chances are that your front disc has been bent.Check that out. If that is alright then the brake pads might be acting funnily. take to the service center ASAP. Max the front disc might cost 1250-1500/-.

yeah im riding the bike... rode it to my exams today... the disk makes a funny noise coz it gets tight at one point and then loosens up... the rim seems to be fine i observed and looked at the wheel and disk while riding.. the disk seems to wobble but the rim looks fine... gotta look into it... by the way the insurance guy told me that he'll waive off the police report if i'm not able to get one... fingers crossed!!!
