My 2 year and 15000kms old heavily abused and ripped P180UG3 used to max out at 107kmph with the over rev indicator flashing. So I realised the clutch plates are worn, immediately got the clutch plates and the pressure plates and the 4 springs changed, got new spark plugs[champion RG4HC the ones Bajaj uses], new foam in the air filter and I could touch 120km/h.

@TopicStarter: I am sensing your bike too has a clutch issue.

I also have a Pulsar 150 which does not go beyond 90 kmph. I have changed clutch plates, pressure plates, tires, timing chain, chain set and what not. It still doesnt go any more than 90 kmph. My bike also drinks oil, although the smoke is not noticable. I generally ride at 80 kmph, which it attains quick and effortlessly. After that it kind of hits a wall and does not go beyond 90 kmph.

Now, having changed almost everything, what it seems can resolve the issue is changing the valves and cylinder-piston kit. But I am not spending any more or taking a chance with it.
You say your bike is drinking oil which means worn out piston rings. Get the bore and piston checked and replace the rings if necessary. Worn out piston rings lead to compression loss and so loss in power!

@franklyspeaking- bikes 'drink' engine oil if you ride them at higher revs in everyday continuous riding. if there's no white smoke, then your piston rings are perfectly fine..just that you need to replace the engine oil quite frequently at about 1500kms if you need to ride at higher speeds

An engine ideally drinks no oil. But leaks and all happen so the drained oil is often less than the quantity originally put in. But if the drained oil quantity is too less then there definitely some problem with the bike.

one thing here.. last time this happened around 10K KMs back.. I got spark plugs changed.. and that instantly brought back the life .. please get that changed..

160 rs. each NGK G-Power ones
550 rs. each ngk iridium ones..

take your pick.. I went for G-Power.

gave the bike today for following :

              - engine oil change with above
              - servicing
              - chagned clutch wire also.. as it was 35K km old.. so thought lets change it

                  let's C, how it goes

done everything.. cost 2K bucks.. mechanic was telling.. old clutch plate was totally ripped.. good that we changed it..

                  - First gear pickup is awesome..
                  - pickup till 80 has improved only a bit
                  - showing lower speed at same RPM as used to see earlier.. like till two months back used to do 71KMPH at 6K RPM in fifth gear.. now doing only 65KMPH.. no improvement there.. and thats affecting the top wack.. will get spark plug checked.. and bike retuned once get time from experts..
                  - gear smooth is back to butter smooth.. a big problem solved

                  will keep updating..
