  • Help in Getting MF battery for Honda Activa

My dad's honda active battery gone. he facing lots of difficulties in starting the bike in self start. mech told to change the battery.

i stopped him saying we will change to get the good MF battery. Ofcourse in plans of asking fellow Xbhpians

Ok.. i believe MF battery wont needs charging like we do for normal one. that is giving to some shop for charging it and also to top up with distilled water.
    is it true ?

also my GS having MF battery (Exide freedom) but even that has acid in it. but not like caps which we used to fill it.

please give suggestion on what make and model will be good for activa. its 2007 model not the new one.

Go for Amaron Pro Bike Rider, Model: AP-ATX5L. Comes with a 5 year warranty. It comes factory charged, so you go to the shop, buy it, it comes out of the box, and into your vehicle. This is a VRLA battery so you need not top it up. It does not contain liquid, its in a gel form, so nil evaporation, and no venting of vapour. You cannot top these up. Just look at your current battery and check if it is 5Ah. If it is then the model i mentioned is correct. You can refer to the website. There is also a cheaper version with 4 year warranty. Model: AP-BTX5L. All the remaining specs. are same.

Other options are Bosch and Exide. Im not sure of the model numbers, but i know the warranty is lesser for these.

Whoa!!! 60 months warranty for a scooter battery is it? Even car's batteries are of 36 months warranty!!! & some of them with 48 months.

I couldn't believe this until I found this out by myself - Power Fitments

            Great info Ayson.

just spoke to this guy 42179036/42169036 (vikam auto power or smothing) not sure of the name exactly.

but its just opposite to the satyam office in nandanam (near kotturpuram)

but there is not stock for alpha series which is 60 months warranty. he have beta series which is 4 years warranty.

price of activa battery is 1100 rupees. worth giving a try ? cos normal batteries comes around 500-600 ?

You can buy Amaron Batteries from many shops, need not be an Amaron Pit Stop. Also check the price with 2-3 dealers before buying. You will also get a refund for your old battery ranging from INR 50-150. I got my 9Ah PBR beta series for INR 1350. Quoted price was INR 1500 minus INR 150 for my old battery.

Always ask 2-3 dealers because the local Amaron Pit Stop said INR 1750 for alpha and INR 1580 for beta. Old battery refund INR 50. Another dealer quoted INR 1600 for alpha including the old battery refund. I finally got INR 1500 (incl. refund) quote from a 3rd dealer, but he did not have alpha stocked so i got beta. I think INR 1100 is high for 5Ah beta because my 9Ah beta was INR 1350 (incl. refund)

So check the price with the other dealers and get it if you want to ignore it for 4 years. No checking, no charging, no toping up, provided your charging system is OK and you use the vehicle often.
