  • Hello , I'm using 35 watt Bixenon HID projector in my P180 UG4 . When i turn on the indicators or use the horn , the light GOES OFF , it comes back automatically in some time. I changed my pilots and number plate light to LED thinking it would help, but still no change . Does changing the indicators also to LED help ? Please help me in resolving this issue .Thanks in advance

do you had connected your hid using extra switch or with the stock switches.
this shows that your battery is discharged check your battery voltage
which lights switches off headlight i.e. hid or every lights like switches, meter, parking lights.

I have an extra switch for high/low beam , the switch that switches on my HID is the stock head light switch itself.
Only the HID goes OFF when i use the horn or indicators , all the other lights are on . i know my battery is getting overloaded. Recently i gave my battery for charging , it was fully charged according to that electric shop guy ( i dont have a multimeter to check it myself ).

Now, which among the following would help me solve the problem, preferably the cheapest too -
        1) coil rewinding ? If yes , then please explain the procedure as which guage wire has to be used.
        2) changing the battery ? currently i'm using 12v 9ah , stock p180 battery.
        3) changing the indicators to LED ? but then , will it effect the flashing rate? and orange LED's are bit difficult to find over here.

Am i the only one with such an issue with the HID ? people who have resolved this, PLEASE HELP !!

Do you see the battery icon flashing in your meter??
first try to connect the hid to the battery directly and then use horn or your indicator then see if the hid switches off because your hid 35 watts which should work fine with the stock charger, coil and battery.
tell me the above results then i would be able to tell you what should you do further.

the battery icon is not flashing .
I guess the HID is connected directly to the battery already. A red wire from the HID goes to the battery positive.
even i had thought 35 watt HID should work fine , but i guess starting voltage which is required is creating the problem.

I have one more doubt :
when i'm using the HID and then turning on the indicators, why is it that the HID goes off and indicators turn ON ? If there is no charge in the battery then the indicators shouldn't turn ON right ??

if the battery icon is not flashing then your charging system is working as it should
you should directly connect the hid to the battery without any switch or hid wiring then see if this happens.
start the engine before doing this just connect the ballast to the battery don't use wiring harness which comes with the hid just connect ballast to the battery and hid bulb to the ballast, then use your indicator or horn. see if the hid switches off or not.
if hid does not switches off then the wire is the culprit.
best would be to buy a multiplier then check your battery voltage after switching on the hid.

most of people prefer 4300k else 6000k ..

4300k being yellow and good in foggy situations.. 6000k is white light.. depends what u prefer.

HID can be done for either 35W else 55W . for 35W i believe it cna be plug and play however for 55w NS owners can pitch in
check 200NS thread . many people have got HID and also NS200 battery is 8ah so i guess it will be able to take the load happily.

important : if you plan for HID . go for the projector based setup

as HID does not have a bulb filament and you will get scaterred light everywhere and you will blind the oncoming traffic.

Thanks but one thing i wanna know is there any light intensity difference between 35w and 55w HID having same color temperature?

                      • Hello guys, i read through this thread a long time ago and was hooked onto the modifications you guys have done to your headlights. was really inspired by members retrofitting hids into projector assembly and decided to try it out on my own also.

my bike is an enfield thunderbird and comes with 35w headlamp, 12v 14amp battery as standard. so far i changed the headlamp to philips xtreme vision 55w bulb. intensity of beam is much better, but still falls way short on highways, especially with the blinding lights of oncoming four wheeler traffic. since i love going on the highways on drives, have had to avoid doing that because of my inadequate headlights

then i came across this thread and after poring through it and several similar threads on hids and the like, decided that a projector with hid in it would suffice for low beam and a reflector assembly with standard halogen lamp for the high beam would be sufficient. Projector can be of skoda or pulsar 220... high beam reflector of small size can be obtained only from pulsar 220, so in the end i decided to go with pulsar 220 stuff only.

Now comes the problem....... i have no idea where to procure these parts from. I have read here that they might be available in scrapyards also, but i havent found out any scrap yards here. i have come across only a few scrap dealers at weekly fairs and they are unable to help. Will i be able to purchase these parts separately at Bajaj showroom? Else can any hyderabadis here point out a few good scrapyards for me ? Last option available is to purchase the headlamp unit of new model thunderbird which has inbuilt projector for low beam. However, its cost is too steep at 5k and i want to divert those funds for purchasing HID if possible.

                        Help me out please!

                        • Hey guy's i own a Honda Aviator, The stock headlight is really pathetic.
From where iv'e inquired for HID kits (milan subway) they say that there is no warranty on these stuff..
There are Chinese ones that start from 950rs and then there are other brands that shoot upwards (but again no warranty)

I need to know from where i can source a HID kit for my Aviator.?? and is there any specific brand that i need to stick to.!!

P.S i have a stock battery, so after installing an HID kit, would it drain the battery .?? any precautions that need to be taken before buying one!!
and yes last but not the least, a good mechanic who can do all of this for me :P

                          Awaiting your valuable inputs, cheers!!

                              Hello friends,

I have Pulsar 150 DTSi (2010 model). Recently I came across an HID Projector for pulsar 150. Here's the link for it-

                              http://www.ebay.in/itm/Bajaj-Pulsar...NON-CREE-Ring-Square-Projector-/111488416010?

Wanting to install an HID Projector for long time in my bike I ordered it and received it just yesterday. Now, here I know that to install an HID Projector I need to remove the front headlight glass of headlight assembly and I had done it already using the heat gun.

Now, as its a small town where I live no one at all know how to install this projector!! Has anyone have any idea about it? Has any one of you ever installed it yourself or got it installed from any mechanic? Please guide me to do it if it's possible!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

                              Thanks a lot.
