guys I've ordered H7 HID kit finally after a lot of delay...
navnish is really a very busy man.
maybe I'll receive the kit by Saturday...
the pics of both the HID in action will come very soon after fitting it.
now even i am a DUAL HID person (soon to be).
now i am completely Bankrupt.
my Sparx helmet and DSG maze jacket are history....
by the way, i still would like to use both the beams as high.
I've experienced 20 mins of both the beams on at highways and havent faced any battery issues so far.
what do you recommend?
should i keep same setup even with hid?
if it can support a 55w halo, then why won't it support a 35w hid??Last edited by NANOtechnology; 08-18-2010, 05:47 PM.Giving a lot to a fiero.

my dual headlight project is on a roll, here is a very very rough idea how it will look like.
i got a card board made plate structure now and making all the designs on it,then finally will shift to thick switch board plastic plate which is used in homes in switch boards.
also retaining the oem mounting and levelling device so i can controll it if needed.
projector courtesy mr.gagandeep rehal,.its a skoda h3 low beam ,love it.tested it with oem p 220 with it and ,well it was not the half a person what the skoda is
,its that good.also p 220 s one is huge.high beam is oviously p 220 mighty one but a little damage is there but i checked the throw ,its too good, dosent seemed to affected much.
plate color would be black.
cofig will be....
- off
- side light+day time running lights on the chin of the dome(no angel for me please)
- low beam projector
- low beam+high beam reflector
- if not satisfied or if a notch below then current setup then extra aux on crash guard
.
@nano-go for dual beam on hi,actually if u throw 2 source at the same area the light is very much oem like of cars and that we r after;.
check the amp after using 2 hids, check the breakoff rpm,and use dual beam above that only.sigpic

wow doc..
looks like I've seen this setup before !!
even my plan was to keep one a bit lower, exactly like you did, and same here for led's pilot bulbs too (at the chin, below the p220's reflector).
but i realized later on that to fit the plate very firmly, you need space below (at center only) and on top (again center).
so this cuts out fitting the projector below, as if you do so, you'll attach the clamps a bit on the left from the base..
same thing on top, clamps to hold the plate will be a bit on the right.
in my thing, you don't have enough flat surface on the main reflector (considering left portion below and right portion above) to attach those L shaped clamps which will hold the plate...
so it was not seeming to be firm, hence i went for exactly center to fit these clamps, resulting to exactly horizontal alignment of reflector and projector..
besides.
there's no space left for led's.
clamps will take up a lot of space, believe me...
i would like to see how do you find a place to do so.
and doc, make very very sure that this plate is exactly perpendicular to the ground if attached to the headlight.
i had to do a herculean task to make sure its exactly perpendicular.
i am feeling so on top of this world that MY setup is being followed by DOC...
and the best part is that I AM giving advices ....

Got all the console lights changed to LED's Today...
to save that extra bit of watts.
however i am not happy with the way they appear.
indicators and other lights looks very bright and the meters look quite bluish.
i got a hang of White LED's.
the guy said that he had only blue, white and multicolored (disco one's).
i thought of putting up the disco one's but when i asked him to show me how they appear, it looked very very cheap..
so white is what i have, but i still am not satisfied.
but if it saves power, its alright

My Fiero is converted to all DC. Thanks to Nano. He has advised me that I should now put an HID. But I am somewhat reluctant to this, because what I have seen is only pure white light & I dont want to use white light. I would like to stick to the Yellow light provided by our normal Halo bulbs. Is there any HID which supports this??
Currently I have stock headlight 35/35w & hella aux lamp H3 35w. Here is the setup.
Previously I had 2 of them but, the load on the handle was tooo much, so removed 1.Here is the pic of that
Suggestions welcomed.

@TS : sorry for hacking into your thread.
I have p180 UG4 which is full DC
The stock 35W headlamp is not useful at night on highways speeding above 70.
what do I have to do to replace my 35W with 55W or 75W bulb (mostly 75W)? I mean I asked in SC about this thing and they said there isn't anything to change in bike's electrical and I could fit 75W bulb right away but they also said that it might damage BCU in future.

@ vishal.
3000k is the answer man.
its yellow.
you'll love it.
@ all
gurus or lighting, I've seen vishal's aux lamp, its hella one, and the size of the lamp as far as depth is concerned is quite small.
its H3 and i have an H3 bulb.
but my HID bulb is too long to fit his aux lamp.
this is how his bulb look like.

we didn't try fitting my H3 into his aux as the time was less.
what do you guys say??
@ lockhrt999
you don't have to do anything to the bike to put up all these higher rating bulbs.
its direct fit.
but 55w/75w/100w will drain your battery very very quickly, as your bike is DC.
HID is strongly recommended as even that would be direct fit.Giving a lot to a fiero.

@nano,omg i came to know of vishals bike long back, because of its bold ,dont care attitude,i really liked and admired that.cool and happy to know that his steed is converted to full dc.
now coming to ur query...
well h3 hid bulbs are bit long but navnish was able to fit them inside hella ones as far i know.he was also tellin me that he ordered some h3 s which are smaller and close to oem h3 bulbs that u have shown.
now....
3000k hid is tooo much yellow, its like a 100watt yellow fog lamp, very very not welcome i say, best is 4300k,its the perfect combination of white and yellow...
the follwing pic...right one is 3000k and the left one is a standerd halogen.....
also 3000k in low beam also in us is illegal, dont know about here though,,,
i suddegest get a amby seal beam of autopal 7 inch glass made and replace that in the original housing, its a direct fit,no probs, its hell of a lot better, costs 120rs only.put 4300k hid bixenon in there, you will be happy and there is a big chance that you can ditch the hella, trust me........

just replace the plastic seal beam here

with this
then put one of these inside...
,
\and you will be......
ok,i guess!Last edited by drvmtm; 08-21-2010, 02:57 PM.sigpic

I think that bulb is a type of H3. Also doktor whats up with Sarah Palin winking? and I must say the fiero looks like mickey mouse. Are those hella written covers for the aux lamps?Originally posted by drvmtm View Post@nano,omg i came to know of vishals bike long back, because of its bold ,dont care attitude,i really liked and admired that.cool and happy to know that his steed is converted to full dc.

After reading a lot I think following option are viable on my stock p180 ug4 full DC with 9ah battery.
I want better illumination from most cost effective solution.
Please tell me if I'm missing anything.
1. 55/60W halogen
2. 90/100W halogen + appropriate reflector + coil winding thing
3. (low beam) HID + (high beam) halogen
4. an H4 bi-xenon HID 35W
5. ---------''-------- 55W
It would be very helpful if I could get approx expenditure for each option.
Thanks a tonLast edited by lockhrt999; 08-21-2010, 11:56 PM.
