And what about the engine performance after DC conversion? How glad is ur TCI after this, any noticeable difference?Originally posted by lijok View Post@sajan - yeah, my dc setup is running without any problems. Thanks to all of you out there for your help.
Regarding the comparo... we didnt do that much in the Munnar G2G. But I can say that the HID with glare cap is quite tame! Hehe..
And with my personal experience with 6000K and 4300K HIDs, 4300K is the best. 6000K is ok if you are running in dry weather and the atmosphere is clear... fog, heavy rain etc will render it practically useless.
But I guess most of us here know these things...

Engine performance remains unaffected. Atleast due to the changes in electricals...Originally posted by sajjt View PostAnd what about the engine performance after DC conversion? How glad is ur TCI after this, any noticeable difference?
(But its gone kaput after running without oil... during the Munnar G2G. Long story, will tell another time)

Have ur RR unit checked for the charging rates. R15 has got a robust charging system. BTW, whats ur riding pattern during this 20mins, is it b2b traffic? Is it a dual HID or a single and the pattern of usage also. Dual HID can drain a puny 5AH battery within no time.Do it Yourself, what so ever, if Possible

Keep it above 3k rpm. It will run 2 HIDs easily even without a batt!Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Postcan anyone help me. i have yamaha r15, its on dc but when i switch on hid. my battery drain completely after 20-25 mins. i replace stock battery with 5amp amaron battery but still my problem exists plz help me
Check you charging system/riding pattern.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

The charging system is checked with a multi meter for voltage and ampage, any auto electricaian can do this, unless you have a multimeter and know how to use it.Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Posti always drive above 3k rpm and how to check charging system plz tell
Your battery should drain whilst the bike is in use, as Abhijeet stated, the bike can run with out the battery, simple test, you can remove the seat, start the engine, with an insulated screw driver disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and wedge a piece of cardboard between the ground wire and the terminal, the bike should continue running as normal with all functions as normal, if it stalls then you have a problem with the RR unit or the wiring from the RR to the battery.
Now with regards to the installation, were any wires of the bikes loom cut? do you have 2 relay wires (red) running directly to the battery? and the black ground wires are they mounted directly to the chassis or to the battery? (they should be fixed to the chassis)Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

thanks for info bro, will get it checked by evening and post all details but can u tell how much reading should be on multimeter that tell us charging system is good and can you tell me how to increase charging system.Originally posted by stefanm View PostThe charging system is checked with a multi meter for voltage and ampage, any auto electricaian can do this, unless you have a multimeter and know how to use it.

Just measure the voltage across the battery terminals at 3k rpm and above WITH BOTH HIDs ON. It should be somewhere above 12V and should increase gradually when rpm is increased to 6k or so.Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Postthanks for info bro, will get it checked by evening and post all details but can u tell how much reading should be on multimeter that tell us charging system is good and can you tell me how to increase charging system.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

i checked, in idle rpm its 12v and at 6k it reaches maximum to 12.8 to 13v. does it means my charging system is faulty or its okOriginally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostJust measure the voltage across the battery terminals at 3k rpm and above WITH BOTH HIDs ON.
