  • 180's split seat on 150 UG IV??

The P 150's seats are really uncomfortable(specially for the person sittin behind)... It seams as if a leather cover is fixed directly on the fibre base of the seat without any foam(or whatever).. especially on long rides... hell..

I think 180's split seats have good amount of foam in em and are comfortable... So Is it possible to fit 180 UG IV's split seats on a 150 UG IV??

If yes then where can i get the seat in Bangalore? wat would be the cost of the seat and the cost to get it done(fitting)? where can i get it done in Bangalore??

Might be possible but you would need the metal clamps that hold each seat to be welded on to the frame, not sure if this is easy. Each split seat has its own set of clamps or brackets while a P150 has a single long seat with only one set of clamps.

Also, I have seen single seat assemblies that look exactly like the split seats of the newer pulsars, only that they don't split, it is for appearance only.

As regarding the comfort I think there is no advantage of the split seats. I think they have the same amount of foam. In fact the sloping seat of my P200 becomes really irritating on a long ride.

Quite easy. Go to a seat cover shop. He will put in one layer of foam and then a cover on top. Ask him to put two layers of foam. This puffs the seat up a bit and makes it look a bit off-shape too but it becomes more comfortable for sure.

            Cost is around 150.

Ask the seat maker to flatten out the seat surfaces as in eliminate the slope, this makes the seating more comfortable as you wont slip and hit the tank every time you'd brake.Ask him to flatten out the rider seat and increase the height of the pillion seat and stitch two different covers to the seat at the different heights so that it will look as if the pillion seat is a different piece.

@sudan: The split seats of 180 are even more uncomfortable. First, try a test drive of Pulsar 180 UG4 and then you will know exactly about the comfort it offers is one for you or not.
