  • Clutch plate pulsar 150 dtsi

    hi, Guys
I've got Pulsar 150 dtsi(2005). and it has clocked 28500 kms.
but now a days i don't feel any power in my bike....pick up and speed has gone for a toss...and engine knocks like hell, mileage has also decreased....a mechanic from bajaj authorized service center told me that it's because of worn-out clutch plates.....
    do you think he's true?????
and will i need to change an entire clutch assembly?????

    plz let me know.........
    thank you in advance...

He may most likely be correct. For the issue that you have mentioned, there could be 2 reasons - worn out clutch plates or compression loss. If your bike does not emit white smoke from the exhaust, it would be clutch plates. Also, if your bike's clutch plates have not been changed even once, then for sure it is your clutch plates again because they have served their life span.

Get the clutch plates and pressure plates changed. Each clutch plate costs about Rs. 50 and I believe your bike has 5 (do check whether 4 or 5). Also change the pressure plates. They cost Rs. 30-35 each and you would need 3 or 4, depending on the number of clutch plates that your bike uses. Get them changed from a good mechanic. He would charge you Rs 100-150 as labour charges and you are done.
