Welcome to MP. I am from Indore, 500kms from your 'Gwalior'. BTW, Why only Gwalior for studying, there are better institutes available for MBA. Coming to the point:

1) You will have to pay the road tax of MP, which will be according to the current showroom price there in Gwalior. But, why bother and change? There is no need, infact many of the bikes in my city are running on West Bengal, Delhi, Mumbai,... registrations. No problems, absolutely! The cops does'nt catch bikers. They catch only car's that too only sometimes.

If you will be moving back to Hyderabad, then no need for changing registration for 2 years only.


3) As Gwalior is not as big as Hyderabad, thus you will find only 1 PBK their. In my city, itself there is only 1 PBK, I am from Indore 500kms from Gwalior.

Why change the registration from AP to MP unless you are sure that you would spend rest of your life there. You can legally stay there with the same papers, without paying road tax for 1 year.

Keep a printout of this if the cop is unaware or you cannot make him believe you.

Moreover, police doesnt bother much there. Keep your college ID card handy and tell them 'frankly' why you dont want to change those plates. For first year, you will have your train booking photocopy or your college ID to prove that you havent been there for more than 1 year. In the second year, you yourself wouldnt bother. Come on, police does accept genuine reasons, dont they?

BEWARE: Do not park your bike if the place shows 'no parking' sign, particularly Railway road. That is the only thing you need to be concerned about in the city. Your vehicle will be towed away. Dont tell me I told you to take it easy.

Just out of curiosity, IITTM is Indian Institute of Travel and Tourism Management? Does it not have a hostel of its own? Anyway, nevermind.

Not sure about Probiking. Take the contact number of Bajaj dealership in Gwalior from Bajaj's website and ask them. They should know.
