  • Dio Paint Job in Hubli

hello xbhpians .. i'm 15 yrs old gonna turn 16 in december and i'll get my learners license then ( lik i need it !) . So i've started my +2 here in Hubli , Karnataka .. i need a vehicle to come and go from college and since my parents have said a BIG NO to bikes i'm helpless but to get a gearless scooter . But i've been ridingg a scooty since 3 years and have been quite bored with the monotonous rides .. but then again i've no option .

So i proposed my parents that i ride a second hand dio for these 2 years and den i can get a new ride . so now this is the prob .
    1. getting a second hand dio in good condition
    2. i'm gonna mod the cosmetics as shown in the pictures attached ..
    3. so need a really sleek paintjob and stickering and dono where to get tht here
    4. iridium spark plugs and K&N air filter for it (if possible)

thing is , i dont wanna ride something that looks like every1 has it, otherwise i could've just bought the new dio .. i want my ride to stand out ..

so i need all the help i can get to do this job .

    my queries
1 . any 1 know where to get a paintjob in hubli ?
    2. can iridium spark plugs and k&n airfilters fit in it ????

all help is well appreciated . and i hope this thred is in the right place . thank you

Is the legal riding age for gearless vehicles at 16?

yes legal age is 16 .. now legal matters are solved , can i get some help with my queries ?

i read some similiar queries on team BHP and they say thta spark plugs and air filter dont give much boost to performance .. is that true?? if so than then how much more power is expected than dio's stock 7bhp?

          Hey buddy,

I lived in hubli for about 5yrs. Upto my knowledge there isn't any good place for such modification. Sure, one or the other mechanic will accept to do the job but I am not sure of thier capability. I suggest you get the job done in bangalore or goa.

If not possible, you can atleast get the stickering job done neatly as I remember seeing enough shops. Arun is in hubli(unkal). Pls ask him for further details.

Buddy Dont modify and ruin the scooty instead if you get a body kit for it then install it or go for a paint job not body modifications!

i dont think so that the there are any such kind of rule.

@TS:- the modifications would just ruin the bike (scooter). Better get a new body kit from the showroom.

                    thanks for the help

dont worry about the paint job . I 've got a contact with the paint booth person and have put out feelers in the HONDA showooms , so i may get some news in about a week .

for people who dont agree for modifcations you can read my first post relating to how i want my ride to stand out in the endless ocean of dio's ..for example - our college parking lot has many many dio's of every colour and year .. how am i supposed to find out which one's mine???? .. any way's its just for 2 years .

my only query is about the performance mods .. will there be noticeable difference ? or just a stock replacement ? aND how about the prices of
                    1. NGK spark plugs
                    2. K&N air filter (one more thing -- is it the conical thingie or the stock replacemnt filter?)

                    thank you

NGK spark plugs and K&N filter wont give you a huge boost! You have to upjet the scooty,Dont do that it will hurt the resale value of the scooty!

Wanna Stand out in crowd?Get a Nano instead of a scooty!

hey but i dont think i'll sell it ..or maybe i should ?? but i'm not crapping up the dio dude.. just some parts to improve performance as much as possible and a cool paintjob.. if the buyer is a first timer he'll eat it up and i get extra on it !(hehehe ) just kidding ..

and whats the mileage gain if those parts are there and also what are the gains if i try out that acetone and xylene mixture with the petrol????

Buddy. I assure you that your mileage will go down ridiculously and I mean it. And as haxor says your dio's resale value will go down badly. Pls understand that Dio was built purely for commuters. So am not sure if it can keep performing the same way after modifications in long terms. Problems may creep in later. Filters will increase power but to a very small extent. I know its hard to swallow to give up your modification idea. But think wether you can meet the running cost. Decide wisely........
