Key Chain Thread

I have always wanted to ask this question ..

what is the correct name of the hip chain that keeps dangling from the waist or the pocket of the young brat-set and rap singers.

It's like a long loopy chain from the belt buckle to the pocket or another belt buckle. Popularized initially by rap stars.

At first I thought it was some kind of key chain to prevent keys from getting accidentaly lost or jumping out of the pocket, but now as I understand it is probably not.

I used this chain a lot during my hostel years, but still can't get it's proper name. Plz help

That thing is not a key chain...one end of that thing is connected to the belt and the other is used to connect to the wallet/purse..

It is easily available at most accessory shops..!!!

But what's it's correct name ?

Need to know the right name to shop around on the net.

So far I have used keywords such as "hip chain", "waist chain" etc but nothing gives the results that I am looking for.

Edit: searched with keywords "Wallet Chain" and that's bang on. lol

Got a new key chain for my bike.. With my own bike's Picture on it..Am not much happy with the result..but it's good... not that bad...

First one is my old/current key chain.. and second is the new one...

Well as I said.. it's not that bad..but it's not exactly the way I wanted..

I had ordered one like my current key chain.. picture on a rubber rectangular key chain.. this aint rubber.. this is something sort of wood or like that.. But it's good.. one advantage is, being very shiny and limanated kind of thing wont hold stains for long.. rubber key chains become dirty very soon...
