  • Sir (My hands Raised)!

@Anvancy- Tell me this, If I taken only one RAW shot and make three diff Exposure jpg images out using PP, and then merge them later. Will that work ? I mean what will be the output quality diff when-
    1. I take three/multiple shots at diff exposure in RAW mode and then merge them
    or.
    2. I take one RAW shot , induce three differing exposure jpgs out of it and then merge it.

    ^^ which sounds better?

I tried option-2 with a slight diff, instead of inducing jpg I tried to get RAW instead. Problem- The file generated by PP was corrupted, some bug in PP it seems ..

there are actually four ways to it.

first=u take 3 JPGs thru AEB.u then put all three under the HDR software u have.
second=u take a single RAW shot, put that into software and do HDR.
third=u take 3 RAW shots thru AEB..benefit??greater detail.
fourth=u take JPGs at each "incremental" of exposure.ie 0,1/3,2/3,1and repeat until u reach 2 +-EV.this fourth option will have far greater detail as per other HDR users, giving more clarity.

the more u blend in the more cleaner the image becomes post tonemap.
so putting a single RAW or putting 3 RAWs or putting all incremental will give u nice results.

            speed and chicane..

an example of 3 RAW AEB works out.

this was shot inside.now this is ideal for HDR.since if only one shot is taken,u dont get the whole thing.this was at kushalnagar nyingmapa tibetan monastery.

            • @Anvancy: I would really like to see the original, "normal" image of the same. Although the HDR looks terrific, I must admit (albeit a little 'over the top' for my taste).

when u shoot with 3jpgs u get a better result.somewhat like these.i purposely kept antighosting unchecked to keep a motion feel.

                  anvancy.
Yeah, i edited a single jpeg file to fool the photomatix software!! That's the reason the sky looks noisy.

The truck pics are oozing with vibrancy and the monastry pic is awesome.Do you in anyway apply lens vignette.Went through your flickr photostream. It surely is one of the best photostream i have ever seen(filled with HDRs)!!

My cam(A590IS) doesn't have the AEB setting.Instead i use the Aperture-priority mode and click 3 pics of different exposure levels. Is 3 enough or should i increase more.Recently, i had a trip to mountain ghat where i had shot couple of HDRs.The log and pics are coming soon.

i apply lens vignette in LR.glad u liked my stream.(though its all amateur.)
every camera will have exposure compensation.ie +-EV.so instead of aperture, just go +-increments in exposure and u will be good.for starters 3 will be enough.

and my trial with miniature shots.took a random shot from my trip.miniature highway.

Hey, Anvay just a small correction, its the Namdroling Monastery in Bylakuppe!

I tried my hand at HDR's too. Here's what I did, put the cam in auto mode and just selected 5 exposures from -2.0EV to +2.0EV, with a 1EV difference. And then merged it in Photomatix. Since it was in auto there was just too much noise introduced in the pics. Here's the result, comments and suggestions please!!!
