The shot would have been good if:
1.) There was nothing on the lower left corner.
2.) The shadow of the rickshaw was complete.

When you select a subject try to avoid third elements and cover as much characteristics as possible of the subject. Nice try though

This is precisely what i am looking for, even if you guys feel that an image is downright bad, just let the poster know that what exactly is wrong with the click, this will help one in learning.

One more thing: The third elements can of course be focussed out to constitute the Bokeh.

I see; quite explains the mood of the cat, then!

Half an hour to forty minutes of patience, holding the 400D mounted with the 100mm lens set to f8, with the macro ratio set to 1:1.5 or thereabouts, and the ISO bumped upto ISO-1600, with the shutter somewhere around the 1/200th of a second, and lying as still as a dead body on the ground.

These were JUST a few relatively easier things I did, and I got the shot! The hard part was trying to make people understand in that garden what on earth was I trying to do lying flat on the grass with the camera! Some were amazed, some found it downright funny, while some even gave me tips on how to click!

But, the bottom line is - Perseverance and Patience are the key to macro photography. You know this already.
