      • Aryan, you could have used a tripod for the flower shot. A bit of shake blemishes an otherwise wonderful picture.

Yes, perhaps I should have, but neither do I have a tripod, nor is it really possible to carry it along everyday at work!

                • @ All: a query to all..

Recently i bought a new cam Nikon P60..would like to know how does one capture fast moving objects..!! I tried yesterday night with the fan as the object but evrytime ended up capturing the 3 blades as if it was at a standstill.. What i was looking/thinking to do was to capture the moving blades of the fan..!!

Could anyone help me out with this..

                  • @Inder: One simple suggestion. Play around with the shutter speed in the 'Shutter Priority' (Tv) mode.
                    :)

                    • @ Aryan : I tried with shutter speeds as 1/30 or 1/300...but still the same results..!!

Increasing the shutter speeds won't help. It would 'freeze' the moment. Try even lower then; perhaps something like 1/15 or 1/20!
                        :)

                        • 1/30 is really slow for objects such as a fan. You need wy faster shutter speeds and ISOs to get non-blurred shots.

Edit : Just saw that you needed the blur. In which case, you need a slower speed as Aryan said. Be warned, anything lower than 1/10 and you will need a tripod to counter camera shake.

He wants to capture the motion of the moving fan Synn!

@Inder: That is your purpose, I suppose? I hope I am not wrong!

                            EDIT: Synner edited!

To get that 'Motion Blur' shots does only the shutter speeds matter or any other element matter..??

Do ISOs also play a role here..!?
