    Hi, everybody!

Wow, everyone's already here and posting away! Seems like I'm the last from the photographers' group to join back in...

Anyway, I wasn't able to get my login ID thing straight... My old ID was present, but seemed to be related to someone else.. Also shot a few mails to sunny.. but I guess he must be busy.. finally re-registered today with a diff name...

@ Sunny : Nice shot of star trails... did you have the custom Fn 'long exposure Noise Reduction' enabled for this shot?

@ Kushant : Great shots of the bald eagle!

@ Anvancy : Looks like you are the new macro & hdr king

    Great photos guys...

Here's my type of HDR from the weekend...

Here's another one that's more like anvancy's style

Both from a single RAW exposure..

        did you say fuji???..which model??5700?? or A series??or S series?

@vicky:actually the king(you)have arrived now...hum to sipai hai.

@LP:actually taking photos without permission of others is not good.if u had taken permission then its ok.i would consider this shot better than your first one.

@aryan:actually no.firstly the raynox is compact.so even when its near the subject light is not actually blocked.if the raynox was a protruding design then light may have been blocked.i dont use any external source of light.i cant carry a table lamp in the nearby garden u see..i asked my friend whether he can help me in creating a macro LED light.lets see where it goes.

built in flash works many a times.

like in this one.of that same beetle but in a different position.this is not of 3.75x but with a 150.

macros with flash dont come that bad.

        @speedpujari:nice images.love the gold effect.

        • hey vicky boss
          love those HDR's

howdya make 'em from a single RAW??? multiple Digital EV compensated JPG's or does the HDR soffie directly accept RAW's???

and when exposing the RAW, what is the target exposure, the highlights or the shadows, or just simple balanced exposure....?????

a single RAW carries data that JPG doesnt.so say if you shoot one RAW the software can manipulate the +-EV info from the data and can convert the HDR.
the more incremental values of your EV in jpg or RAW the better actually your image will be.

            • spending hours and hours on dpreview have taught me that the RAW files do have much more headroom... :P
however, what is the exact procedure...

the RAW software has some HDR features, or do you simply make multiple JPG files with + and - software EV compenstaion and then HDR soffie it????

consider suppose photomatix.you load one RAW file.the photomatix software algorithm is programmed to make compensation and adjustments in the +-EV values and accordingly applies the HDR algorithm.

another way to actually create HDR from a single RAW file is to split it in 0 +1 and -1 or 2 or 3.so you get three RAW files with three values.then also you can add those three files and create a HDR.

                  Qtprfsgui

Sweet! Where was this taken? (I like this style and how it seem's to replicate the way a human eye see's!)

                    • butterflies.one of the nature's most difficult subject to shoot.nimble flexible and very sensitive.they always keep a constant watch on you when you approach to photograph them.and they dont sit idle all the time.they move from one flower to another all the time.you require some calculations here.what you can observe is how much time she actually sits on a flower and then flies away.that is your golden chance.
my golden chance came some days ago.it had rained the day before i photographed these.during the day many butterflies were coming on the lantana flowers for nectar.i took that opportunity to capture nature's beauty.
also to me at that time taking photos with raynox was nearly impossible.they used to fly away even if you moved an inch closer.but still i was satisfied with my results.sharing with you people some.hope you enjoy them.

this one was captured while it was in motion.

                      a black and white concept.

none of these have been taken by raynox.none of these are cropped.majority of the images are shot in the range of 200mm to 300mm.

                      and finally one dragonfly photo.

this was taken with a raynox 250 but at a lesser zoom.
                      hope you enjoyed them.

                        • clouds look pretty darn awesome... though IMO you should get more ground objects into the picture to actually make use of the benefits of HDR to portray the scene in its entirety. Some clouds overhanging neon signs would be awesome.
