I bought an M size HJC TR-1 two months ago, I tried it at the shop for few minutes, it was tight and I expected it to loosen up a bit however it didn't loosen that much and I can feel that my right ear is slightly touching the shell, for short rides its not that noticeable but I wore it for 6-7 hours continuous on my recent tour and there was just unbearable pain in my ear.

Now, I'm confused about what to do/

1. Sell it and buy the correct size helmet?
2. Make adjustment/alteration in the helmet?
3. Would balaclava be of any help?
