  • Best way to pack laptops on long trips

I do Goa to Pune (490kms) on my Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. I have two laptops (16 inch each) that I need for my work so it is absolutely mandatory that I carry them. I wanted to understand what are convenient and safe luggage options for this on the SF 250.

So far I've always tied travel bags on the pillion seat using bungee cords. I pack the laptops inside a laptop bag and then keep that bag inside another medium sized travel bag. If done correctly, the bag does sit tightly on the pillion seat but it worries me if the laptops will take any damage. Also the bag moves slightly towards me on every hump and pothole.

I have a tank bag from Axxor which cannot accommodate the 16 inch laptops. Carrying a backpack with two laptops makes it very heavy so I do not want to risk my back and shoulders.

Speaking of Goa man, read this article on running a hotel on lease in Goa. I did not know it's such a risky thing doing a business there.
I look best when I take my helmet off, I have a glow on my face and a bit of helmet hair ;)

Install a rigid top box if your motorcycle allows it. This provides a stable platform for the computers. You can also add a cushion or insert to dampen vibrations
