I have the same helmet I feel wind noise does come in do I need to show the helmet to showroom

I've been using the same, bought it last September, I agree the padding is bit of a downer, luckily I stay nearby planet dsg so got an iridium visor, works well serves the purpose and also looks good, at 650bucks it's totally worth it.

Just came across this thread. I Ve been using this helmet for more than a year and have tried other brands before. I feel LS2 padding is more comfortable than KYT. Overall Build quality is nice. At 3k this is the best deal you can get. I use this mostly for daily commute and short weekend rides. However observed that there is gap between visor and helmet body. Visor has served the life span and need to replace it now. Overall happy with the quality. Planning to buy HJC or MT for weekend rides and continue KYT for city commute.

Hey Parth, Wind noise reduction is decent and I cannot compare it with LS2 or MT as I have not used one. One thing I would like to mention is the weight of the helmet.

It is very heavy and after long hauls can give you headache, as I can see you are from Hyderabad I would suggest you to search a good helmet at local shop.

I didn't have the option of visiting a local shop as there are none here in Vizag so I ordered online and this helmet is temporary fix for me right now.

But one thing I can assure you of is the quality of the helmet, It is seriously well built and it might me heavy but you will never feel that you bought it for such a low price.

Update :

After using it for a month or more these are the things I like and Dis like about the helmet :

Likes :

1. Wind noise is minimum but ear plugs are advised if going on tour and long distance.

2. It is very stable at high speeds and there is very low wind drag.

3. Solid build quality and its seriously well built and I do feel safe in it.

Dis likes:

1. Visor has gap on the top which lets air in and this is the only source of wind noise.

2. Visor is reflective and if you wear sun glasses inside the lid you get a reflection of your sunglasses.

3. No sun protection

4. Its heavy and doesn't give a neck pain because of good aerodynamics, but head aches are inevitable because of the sheer weight of this thing.(I was tired and had no sleep before my trip and had not eaten anything, so it might be due to fatigue)

Summary : For the price its very good, But if you have option to source better helmet else where do look for an alternative.

I have been using RC7 provent helmet for about 6 months and around 2000 km. Helmet is good for rs. 2900 but definitely not better than MT kranos or other MT helmets. Some parts lacks fit and finish like visor it's prone to get scratches very easily, air vents are very loose, and spare visors are not available easily. Wind noise is not there upto 80 kmph but above that significant noise will be there, if someone is looking for a decent helmet at this range I would suggest them to go for MT kranos.

P.S. - above views are solely my personal point of view after using it.

wait,after sometime they may reduce it to 2.7K, u must know one thing - RC7 production has been stopped & they r clearing their stock.
also DSG support sucks! they wont reply or heed to your mails.
Wind Noise is less,i recently did a 100km ride with avg 75kmph & wind noise was minimal,will be doing an another trip this weekend N will update.
P.s: After using MT or LS2,this might not be a good choice.

Hi, Thanks for sharing your views on the KYT helmet,

I was planning to buy from amazon and now its costing about 3500, I guess the clear visor is an issue and obtaining the iridium visor from planet dsg would again be costing extra for shipping.

after prolonged use, do you still recommend the helmet ? my concern is also noise reduction as I am not finding effective noise reduction in LS2 or MT I have

I actually do plan to buy one and sadly its only available on dsg website. Will wait for a few days and try to find one at local shops.

As you live in Bangalore I will suggest to check some local shops, as it will be reassuring then buying online.

Update: the helmet hit the ground and luckily my head was not inside it.

The straps of the shoulder bag gave up and the helmet fell down while I was getting off a moving bus.

Wind noise on a very windy day is audible and with vents closed should not be a problem.

My biggest concern now is sun, it has a plain visor and it being snug I am not able to wear sunglasses inside.

It is a great deal and yeah spares I don't even have hope to find them, will see how long it will last then will upgrade.

Bro where I am from no shops to buy a decent helmet so forget spares, will goto to Hyderabad and check out rest of the riding gear and spares if found.

Hey thanks bro, yeah I did see the YouTube videos to understand the magic behind the straps, it's hard but feels solid and safe.

Nothing beats safety I guess.
