  • MT Matrix Track Spirit Review

Hello xbhpians.I have a ktm duke 390 and after i rode it for first time on highway i came to knew about the need of good helmet.I had a studds downtown(removable chin) but it was very dangerous to wear it on high speeds.
I came across many helmets from online reviews but getting a good fit helmet for size 54-55cm xs or s size was difficult. The one i shortlisted were kranos,mt,sol,ls2,kyt,thh.

My friend picked up a SOL metal man on my behalf from SPG delhi.I tried it but was not impressed with the quality or may be because it was a loose fit.SPG staff was very welcoming and they told if i need to exchange the helmet they can but the helmet should be unused. No doubt the SOL 68Sll metal man(orange) was a very good looking and head turner helmet but it was a sizing issue for me.They offered a repadding of helmet but i didnt wanted some repadding stuff.

Then i went to delhi to SPG and after trying various helmets this was the one i decided to get.Its an orange MT Matrix Track Spirit. It fits tight on my head and it looks good very good as it compliments my ktm.Its ECE and DOT certified. Its having a pump system and the air fills beneath the cheek pads in a plastic balloon type small bag that looks like hot dog.I got the iridium/mercury visor fitted the moment i bought this helmet.Overall it costed around 8800rs.But for this price range this is the best helmet i can get.Spares and service is easily and available within budget.
On ride i rode it for 160 km and definitely if your upgrading on your helmet this helmet is a must to consider. It has a chin curtain with it on the helmet initially it may feel a bit suffocated and the helmet becomes foggy from inside very quickly.Opening the vents does the work to some extent. As per noise is considered there is no noise till 90kmph and slight whistle is noticiable after this.It gets a little noisy after 140kmph but that will not bother you.I had a balaclava on my head and so i didnt noticed much. The iridium visor did its work perfectly and no irritating sun glares were noticed.
Overall this helmet within budget of 10k does its job very well as its so light weight just 1300gms.Very good for touring and even occasional trackdays.

    Review Approved

Thanks for sharing, do add photos of the helmet and another review after you have used it for a few months/ kilometres.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city
