Build quality:
For the starters, someone who has used both Cramster TRG2 and Probiker gloves, this seemed to be somewhere near the quality of TRG2, very thick glove, pretty good looking and protective enough. Though pricing is cheap, the stitching quality is rock solid and material is protective than I expected. Overall the glove looks like it is a full gauntlet in photos but it is a deception, it is somewhere between full gauntlet and semi gauntlet. The glove extends just enough to protect the outer portion of your wrist (as in full gauntlet), that is justified by the pricing though. The wrist strap is also pretty neat, except it wasn’t exactly matching my wrist size though the glove is snug fit on my palm. There is always a crease when I would fasten the Velcro strap.
Protective material:
The Carbon knuckle protection looks neat, however the gloves are not 100% leather. The under-palms are silicone grip fabric which again won’t offer much protection against abrasion unless they are thick, which they are in this case. The upper-palm is goat leather. The wrists are just enough protected by an extension on outer edge but the lower palm has no plastic-guard like those in Probiker gloves which will protect when it contacts asphalt, would have highly appreciated one. The fabric under palm will most probably tear off without that guard, not sure about how much abrasion can it withstand compared to a full leather gloves.
Usability:
Glove is very ventilated, hot afternoons don’t feel so hot. It is over breathable I would say, Froze my hand when I rode in 14 degree Celsius, it is not water proof as well. I have got the exact size that would fit me as per the Bachoo motors sizing guide and it fits super tight, could use a little looser fit. Best part is I can now use touch screen phones with gloves on, added feature which was really worth it for someone like me who has habit of checking on phone every time he/she stops for a red-light. Glove is very thick and particularly for me it was, I had to actually go on pretty long rides to ‘break-in’ and get used to the feeling, at first the brakes and clutch levers felt really awkward. I still don’t have that feel for levers which I would like, but it has only been 250kms so far with gloves.
Pricing:
They were actually priced at 2499, but since they were on sale I got them for 1999 from bachoo. Which is a bit lower than cheapest ASPIRE short gloves. It is priced at same rate as solace venture but again it was full gauntlet glove.
Verdict:
If you are looking for a cheap full gauntlet- full leather glove and order Vento, you are going to be disappointed. Vento is between semi and full, though it appears as a full gauntlet on website photos. If you are looking for secondary set of gloves for everyday ride but not exactly a full gauntlet or not exactly a Probiker, this can be the one.
