  • Vimoto V3 BLUETOOTH REVIEW AND INSTALLATION

Just got delivered the vimoto v3 Bluetooth for helmet.... Bought it from AliExpress for around 2500 bucks including shipping...
Installed it myself... My helmet is SMK twister....
This helmet has cutout for speaker vents....
To install you need to partially remove liners.... Then place speaker with the help of 3m Velcro pad for both speaker... Then attach the mic... For full face helmet it's flexible... For modular or half faced it's fixed and sturdy mic...
Mine is full faced helmet so i used flexible mic...
After that attach Bluetooth connector to the side of helmet... I did it with the 3m tape ...
For 3m tape to get fully attached give helmet around 1 or 2 days....
    Some after pics

Claimed playback is around 8-10 hours... Will test to more to give final verdict...
But overall i found it nice for the price...

I've ordered 4 sets of Vimoto V8 for our spiti ride. Still in transit. Shall get to lay my lands on them in a weeks time.

Please share your initial impressions and any setting issues you came across and how you resolved them.

      Thanks in advance, Cheers!

Well the backup seems to be good... Around 8 hours...
But as i recall the v8 has more bigger battery so expect around 10 hrs minimum...
The speakers are loud and clear...
Don't expect to be indulged in audiophile universe.... Certainly lacks bass...
Don't expect sound like u use earphones....
But overall are nice to use...
Installation is easy and can be easily done in 10 min....
To attach Bluetooth to helmet u can do it with 3m tape patch provided... But due to my helmet shape it wasn't attaching properly... So i removed it and attached it using 3m tape i bought it from hardware store...
Though not much instructions are provided but u can easily do it....

Can this be used as an intercom device? If so, how many devices can be connected?

I guess 3. They put their names as V'x' where 'x' is the number of devices that can be connected. Not sure tho

Not this one but higher version from the same company... They are V6 model and V8 model.... V8 is the most feature packed with intercom for about 8 people I think... Also it has bigger battery... You can search on AliExpress...
My Vimoto v3 had got 600 mah of battery so it lasts around 8 hours of playback time....
V8 has 800 mah of battery so expect around 10-12 hours of playback...
Another alternative can be BT S2( can't exactly remember the name maybe BT ST2 ) is also an alternate but don't know about intercom availability in it..
If you got the bucks buy Senna Bluetooth ....

Hey aditya...i have the sena 10C on my Origine helmet and though it functions alright I haven't been impressed by its sound quality. And the controls too leave you wondering the reason for its high price tag...the app on the phone to control the headset is also quite rudimentary and shabby...a friend on mine got it installed at the same time as I did and we tested the range of the intercom while riding home in opposite directions...we lost contact within few 100 metres as against the claimed 1.6kms...

                  Sorry to hijack this thread.

recently brought VnetPhone V6 Intercom [bluetooth] for my helmet , got 2 one for me and other for friend, excellent sound quality and loud.

can connect to phone and also use it as intercom b/w 2 riders and you can pair 5 ppl [5 rider + 1 phone] , can connect to sena also on universal channel.

distance we tested close to 1km in straight road , and range reduces depend on the line of sight.

another option is BT-S2 , but with this one only 1 more rider can connect.

Here is the link to order - https://www.gearbest.com/motorcycle-...pp_614178.html

I would like to ask one question to all of you. How much weather resistant are these sets? I'm more concerned about rain. I haven't used any communicators and I don't have anything to compare with.

                      Hi bro,
I decided to buy V8 but if you answer my two question it would be very helpful for me.

Do we have option to change music tracks like next back play pause?

Is conference talk is possible with 4 people?

Any other thing you would like to share as per your experience.

I was going to order now. Waiting for your response.

I have v3 but basic functionalities are same except intercom... So the volume buttons Ali
Also double as track change button by long pressing them.... And the main function button is used for either taking calls or for play/pause music

I am using V8 for almost 6 months now (on THH TX 27 helmet) and it works great! Superb battery backup. I usually use for about 1.5hrs every weekday and I get the backup for about 2 weeks. Even at the speeds of 120 (I ride a Duke 390) , I can hear what the other person speaks clearly, while on a call. I have used it during heavy downpours and its truly waterproof. It takes around 1.5 - 2 hrs to charge completely which I do once every 2 weeks. I have not tried the intercom funtion so cannot comment on that.

I have V3 on my other helmet and that's good and loud as well. But V8 sound quality and backup is really great. As soon as you switch on V8, there as voice prompt on the percentage of battery left and a even when a phone is connected/call ended. These are missing on V3. Over all, both are great set of Bluetooth headsets offering features according to the price.
