Re: Reviewing Solace jacket for touring purpose

About the flaps, I never had any problems and I ride without the reflector provided (that helps with holding flaps in place, if used)
What I do is roll the flaps down and slightly chain them up, this helps and never had any problems.

About zipper, even though I had no problems as of now, I would love a large sized 2 way zipper.

I am aware about zipping the flaps up. I got it from the main showroom of solace and mr. arun kumar was as usual quite informative about his product and told me this process. The chain for the flaps though for now look adequate but they do feel like they will get loose in time and won't hold the flaps in place.
Overall it's a paisa wasool product. I had chosen leiidor and solace for my next upgrade. Both gave same type of armors and at exactly same places. The deal breaker for leiidor was it's ultra flashy design and an absolute lack of places where you can try the product. TBG touring jacket was dropped from the list because of a lack of reviews and rynox storm was dropped because of poor stitching issues I had with my advento pants.

I see. Nice choice mate. I have yet to have problems on chain, so just shared my personal experience.
I also bought Solace pants recently. Will share more experience with them later someday.

Completed around 40k kms with the jacket, checked the new version too. Guess mine is outdated now, but still feels good to wear.
Also put up a lot of weight, so a little tough to zip it up now.
          No issues as of now.

Tested it in heavy rains, snowfall of Uttarakhand and also summers of plains.
          So far so good.

Also bought Raida Tourbine jacket, Solace Coolmesh pro pants, and a lot of other gears around 2-4 months ago.

The Raida jacket is holding up pretty well owing to my high kilometres of commute everyday.
The pants, just one word, they are fantastic !

A more detailed review of pants along with pics would be nice

Will try to do it bro. Used it for 2 major rides, more than 10k kms already. [emoji43]
Mostly riding, not much time to review, but will do.

I am using the first gen defender plus and the main zipper was rubbish. But Mr. Kumar was nice enough to get it replaced free of cost

hello, I was looking for an entry level jacket saw that defender plus is on sale now. Further research brought me to this thread and wanted your help with a quick question I had. I saw that defender plus is a textile jacket (not mesh), with 2 openings in the front and back. Will you recommend to use it , with vents open, in the humid conditions or rather I put extra 2k and buy something like rynox air GT/ solace rival urban?

This will be my first riding jacket and will be used for breakfast rides and few overnight rides , mostly south india only. I am planning to upgrade to a touring jacket , like furious or Evo, once I decide to take up longer rides.

                  Get a mesh jacket buddy.

                  Goodluck.
