Currently I have completed 14K on the stock OEM fitted MRF (Zapper) tyres.... I think front will do another 10K (No punctures so far in the front)...

Rear had already around 7 punctures.... So I'm thinking to change the rear one....

I'm okay with the current MRF Zapper S 130/70 ... But I have a doubt whether it will skid or slip on those off road conditions due to less friction since it has very less treads.... ( The lower Sized zappers have more treads on them )

So I'm thinking if more the number treads/buttons on the tyre the more it is good for offroad..... Is my understanding correct??

Please suggest

And How can Michelin PS Radial perform there??

Any one here has done Ladakh on MRF zapper S 130/70 on NS200?

The treads work as friction patches, lesser the treads, smoother the surface and hence you will loose traction off road, tyre compound also plays a huge role, off road spec tyres are harder, so tackling the debris is better from ripping the rubber unlike track tyres which are soft compound and stickier, but not good for off-road; harder compound tyres are comparatively less sticky for roads, but the treads/ blocks/ buttons make up for gripping the surface. you can compare it with treaded shoes used for trekking. Personally i use RALCO SPEED BLASTERS both in front and rear of my P220F and it has given me better confidence off the road, in wet conditions and also on mud, sand etc. Well i am not 100% sure about snow but with few additional ropes/ chains you can easily cover that. Black ice will be a different issue though. All the best for your ride

The tyres have very good grip in slush and offroad, the on-road grip is surprisingly nice too. The only thing I find lacking is wet grip, it's just bad when it's pouring.
Overall a very worthy touring tyre for the rear. I would not use this for the front in the rainy seasons. On the contrary, the grip on snow is very good.
The tyre you have fitted in your front wheel is a rear tyre, one should never swap front with rear and vice versa. Both front and rear tyres has a separate lean angle, different weight and different loading capacity hence they cannot be swapped as such. There are dedicated front tyres available from Ralco tyres, namely Ralco Blaster F or Blaster Magic, sizes one can consider for the given 17inch wheel is 80/90 or 90/90 or even 2.75 17" can be fitted. keep an eye on the P rating of the tyre. For example a front tyre with 90/90 size will have a 47P rating where as a same size 3.00 17" tyre will be having much higher P rating, 50P. Even it might look fine but they will perform poorly when swapped.
