This is my review of the ORAZO PICUS LWR VELCRO riding boots.
I bought these boots about one and half months back and have completed about 3000 Km riding with them. I’ve worn them on short rides, my ride to Udaipur and also to my OFFICE!
Well they are safety shoes and riding shoes rolled into one. As I work in the construction field they felt quite at home at work. Also they are biased more towards work boots (steel toe sand all) than riding shoes. This means the sole is not that stiff, the boots give adequate protection for normal riding and should not be compared to out and out riding boots. (THAT IS A NO FOR TRACK USE). This however is a boon for the average motorcyclist who often neglects protection for his/her feet because riding shoes are - a) expensive, b) clunky and cumbersome and c) the sole has no grip off the bike. All of this is addressed by the Picus boots. @3199 they are very affordable and as they are work boots they are very comfortable to wear and walk in. The sole has a lot of grip and like proper safety shoes they have anti slip grip. The sole is quite bendable and gives no stress while walking. They are also light weight and hence you will not feel tires after wearing them for an entire day like I have. The sizing is a bit off so I would suggest visiting Riccardo and trying them on before buying, and he is always there to help. Go for Velcro ones as they are hassle free and you don’t have to worry about untied laces while riding. Also they are water resistant not water proof. They are fine in light rains for a while splashes but not suitable for heavy rains.
Finally the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Comfortable.
- Lightweight.
Cons:
- Not the highest degree of protection. (Its 3200 for gods sake).
- Inner sole is has no cushion. (easily fixed with memory foam inner sole from Decathalon.)
- Velcros for closure feel a bit weak. (Maybe a bigger Velcro patch might have been better)
All in all I’m very happy with my purchase. I had looked at them online but wanted to try them on first. Thanks to Riccardo for stocking them. And I would by them again if I had to.
