  • Suggestions required for Jacket, helmet, knee protectors and gloves

    Hello good folks of xBhp,

I'm Purna from Bombay and I've been looking for a helmet, jacket, a pair of gloves(waterproof) and knee protectors.
There's a lot of information on this portal but its scattered so I'd like your opinions and suggestions in choosing the perfect gear for me.

•The budget for jacket is 6k could stretch it a little (up to 10k) if getting better deal.
Preference - level 2 protection, good ventilation as would be using for commutes as well, should be all season and shouldn't be very heavy.

•Helmets budget is 5k (can stretch up to 7k) I've selected the MT Mugello series. Feel free to suggest others.
Preference - certifications ECE, DOT; good ventilation, double D-ring, easily available and affordable spares, should be available in white (since commuting in Bombay would boil the insides of your head if worn black or any darker shade)

    • Gloves - 3k
Preference- waterproof gloves but should also be usable in Bombay's humid climate, good protection and good build quality.

    • Knee Protectors - I don't know much about this, I've only heard of scoyco knee guards. Help me choose a better one if there is any.
Preference- should do its job perfectly without hindering movement, and shin protection too if available.

I'm also looking for a good and sturdy mobile holder and good paint protection for my bike if maybe anyone can help me with that too.

Total budget- 15k (can stretch upto max 20k)

I stay in Bombay if that helps. So if any of you stay nearby can maybe help me or guide me towards shops that could.

P.S. the gear would be used for normal commutes as well as long tours(1k km+)

    Many thanks,
    Purna

---> Too many options to choose from below 10k. A good all season textile jacket with L2 protector is Solace furious. Give a visit to AH helmets in your city to check number of jackets.

----> Again visit AH helmet to check HJC, SOL, ,KRANOS in comparison to MT. MT has good market in India so getting spares would be easy and price is also less compare to other brands. T

      • Gloves - 3k
Preference- waterproof gloves but should also be usable in Bombay's humid climate, good protection and good build quality.
----> Raida RainX leather gloves or Solace Striker. They are waterproof gloves but I can;t say if you will get enough ventilation in that humid place.

I'm also looking for a good and sturdy mobile holder

---> Get a riding pant instead of knee protectors.
