  • Suggestions on RR Gear Ranger jacket.

    Hello
, riders I plan to buy riding gears - A jacket and a pant for now. (I know, I should buy a good pair of gloves and a set of boots. But I would have to wait for that) Now, I have done my 2 bits of research.

Here are the things I know:
    • The protectors should be CE level 2.
    • Sliders in the Jacket are a good feature to have.

So, I have found some Jackets that I found appealing.
    • RR gear Ranger - Rs. 9500
      [*=1]Protectors
      [*=2]Back: SAS-Tec Level 2
      [*=2]Shoulders: SAS-Tec Level 2
      [*=2]Elbows: SAS-Tec Level 2
      [*=2]Chest SAS-Tec Level 1

    • [*=1]Rain Liner - Internal
      [*=1]Sliders

    • RR gear Avatar - Rs. 6500

    1. Protectors
      • Back: (Don't know)
      • Shoulders: CE Approved Level 2
      • Elbows: CE Approved Level 2
      • Chest: (Don't know)

    • [*=1]Rain Liner - Internal
    • Solace Sabre - Rs. 10,050

    1. Protectors
      • Back: Powertector Level 2
      • Shoulders: Powertector Level 2
      • Elbows: Powertector Level 2
      • Chest: SAS-Tec Level 1

    2. Rain Liner - Internal

    • Raida Tourbine - Rs. 11,350
      [*=1]Protectors
      [*=2]Back: SAS-Tec Level 2
      [*=2]Shoulders: SAS-Tec Level 2
      [*=2]Elbows: SAS-Tec Level 2
      [*=2]Chest SAS-Tec Level 1
      [*=1]Rain Liner - Internal

Of the above jackets, it is quite obvious that RR gear Ranger would be the best deal. Now, many of the people I asked said "NO" to the brand. I am quite confused. Looking forward to suggestions.

      Hi Vishy,

I understand that buying a riding jacket or any riding accessory for that matter might get confusing. I was confused too, I have a Duke390 and I was wondering which jacket to buy and while searching frantically on the net, I came across https://www.customelements.in/. They have wide range of products and a super friendly staff who helped me in making an informed decision. Now I have an Aspida Helios grey mesh jacket - Rs. 8,000 (I don't remember exact amount). It is C.E rated EN 1621-1 KNOX FlexiForm armour for elbows and shoulders. C.E rated dual density back armour option to upgrade upto level 2 armour.

      Hope this helps!

Re: Suggestions on RR Gear Ranger jacket.

Check the protector model numbers as a starter, Sas-tec manufactures a wide range of protectors, I mailed RRgear regarding this and got no response, which makes me suspicious and I didn't pick that jacket.

Also they do not reveal the denier of Cordura used.
A slider on a weak fabric would be very troublesome and infact lead to tearing of the fabric itself in an uneventful crash.

          Goodluck with your purchase.

And any inputs regarding which sas-tec model numbers are better?

You can tally them from Sastec website itself, nothing like better, but more about size of protectors.
