  • Riding pants+compatible shoes - Need suggestion and tips

    Hello guys,

I am looking for decent pair of riding pants and compatible riding shoes.

My purpose shall be for long distance touring, with ample comfort and venting along with compatible shoes with it.
I need suggestions on this gear.

I ride a KTM Duke 200 and in Pune (Mentioned location as one can suggest decent shops herein - I know dream Suzuki in Pune camp area and The saddle store in Baner).

Also, are there pants available where I can use them for both - touring as well as knee scraping by adding sliders therein?
Although 70% of my biking is going to involve long distance touring while the remaining 30% is to when I ll be riding in places like Lavasa, Ambey or Phonda Ghat.

Please bear the terms if I have used it incorrectly.

      What is your budget?

In terms of stores, there is Open Road in Phoenix Market City, also destination Moto near Laxminarayan theatre. If you search "motorcycle gear" into google maps, there are a few more, these are just the ones I have shopped at.

        Hi Syntax23,

Thanks for the information above. I ll definitely try it out. My total budget is 18-20k (i.e. pants + shoes).

Although, I might find the stores, but I need recommendations for a right set of shoes for equally compatible riding pants - for weekend lavasa trips and for long rides.
like, for e.g. If I buy the XPD XP-7 (Racing boots) (I dont even know whether this is a good shoe, need recommendation though), what pants go with it. That way.

Hello Sir, Thanks for approving the thread.
Generally, there isn't much of an issue with compatibility of boots, they are designed to work with all pants.

For boots, BBG Racing boots have some nice reviews, as well as Solace Threshold and Solace speed tech race boots, which also have good protection. These come in the 8-9.2k price range. If you want to invest more, the Ryo T-Rex boots (~12k) are a good option, as they are C.E certified.

These should be compatible with most of the riding pants out there, but you can go and check in person if you still have concerns.

I know of 2 options that would meet your requirements for pants. Scala street riding pants (~7.3k) and the Zeus Mojave riding pants (9k). They both have detachable metal sliders on the knee and offer ample features for touring as well as decent ventilation through mesh panels.

I Suggest you check Rynox advento pants (Tried & test by many bikers) , For the Shoes you can check Shima Strada (Costs around 7-8k)
