  • Assist me with my first helmet

    Hello all,

Myself Harry from TN and I ride RTR200

I’m about to buy a good helmet for me and made up my mind to go with MT Helmets from SPG Chennai.

I love AXXIS DRAKEN NUKEM (matches my bike colour -RedWhiteBlack) and also I like some MT helmets like GP edition.

I’m confused choosing between AXXIS and MT.

Are both the same quality wise ? Both from same parent company ?

If they are same, I will go with Axxis.

Please help me with this and if there are some other better brands, kindly suggest and I’ll check it out.

    Maximum budget ₹5000.

(After an year or little later, I’m in the idea to change bike paint to matte grey from Gloss white. I love grey and to me it looks premium. we don’t get ABS in RTR200 2.0 grey and hence went with white)

So a neutral funky colour Helmet is also considered.

I prefer MT helmets but It won't come under 5K budget and include pinlock it may comes around 7k. If you need in your budget try Axor Helmets I'm using it for 3 years and ridden 60k+ Kilometers so far.

          Hello Bhpians,

Even I am looking for new helmet and am going to be the first time serious buyer for helmet.

My new bike (Honda Highness CB350) delivery is awaited next week and I urgently need helmet for myself and my pillion rider.

          Budget <5K. Please help.

          - Is the modular helmet/ flip up helmet safe ?
          - Don't kill me experience riders but isn't the Steelbird / Studd / Vega helmets good for daily commute and occasional long rides ?
          - Any leads for good helmet shop in Pune ?

          - Ankur
          Enjoy, Explore, Peace :)

No flip is not safe. Full face helmets from Vega is good to go for occasional long rides.

Would recommend MT helmet as they are much superior and well-engineered than Axxis one. You'll get a good MT helmet for INR 6k. Happy and safe riding 👍🏼

                Thanks for the input bhpians.

I got myself Axor Apex Hunter in Red for 4994/-, Poona Scooters.

I am in love with the quality, fit and finish… Did one short ride to Lonavala and it’s worth every dime.

Now have to convince my pillion(wife) to ditch her Vega half face helmet and by one full face.
                Enjoy, Explore, Peace :)

Hi you can consider buying the NHK terminator or MT Targo. Its 5500 and 5750 respectively but worth the cost.
Mini of 10-15% of the bike value has be spent in purchasing riding gears pls choose the better helmet.
