  • Help on finding an apt helmet for Touring - Interceptor 650

For the past 4 months I've not been able to finalise on a helmet. These are the options considered.

    1. HJC CL-17
    2. LS2 Citation
    3. MT-Blade 2 SV
    4. MT-Rapide
    5. Scorpion EXO-390
    6. Vemar Zephir
    7. MT-Revenge

I was looking into helmets which are light, cause comparatively less wind noise and with a SV.

Re: Help on finding an apt helmet for Touring - Interceptor 650

I've been using a MT Revenge for 2+ years so I can share some of my feedback.

      1. I've done 550+ KM's in a day wearing this helmet and full riding gear. Never had any problems with the weight distribution. No aches or pains.
      2. It isn't noise free. I ride at 80-90 km/h on highways and there is a decent amount of wind noise inside the helmet. I have no idea if this is a problem with all the helmets in this price range, but I'm assuming it is.
      3. It has a cut out for fitting a Bluetooth intercom. If you get one in future, no need to cut anything. Just plug and play.
      4. All liners are removable so cleaning it is easy.
      5. Visibility is decent, I wear it daily when commuting between office and home in peak Hyderabad traffic.
      6. I wear prescription glasses and don't face any problems.

If you can get a pin-lock I'd suggest you get it. After a few months of usage the visor fogs up when riding in rain or humid conditions.

Hope this helps. Best of luck in your helmet hunt. [emoji106]

If I may make one suggestion... please do not buy a helmet online. Try and buy is the best approach for safety gears. [emoji4]

      Cheers!

I got a Scorpion Exo 1400. It is on the expensive side, but the wind noise is bare minimum, its extremely light weight.

I have been using MT Atom Divergence for the last one year. It is a modular helmet. Driven over 500 km in one day on highway. This is what I have experienced
          1. Helmet is quite well insulated with a substantial neck roll. It is able to blank out most of the noise but some wind noise continues to remain especially at 100 + speeds. This noise comes primarily from vents which cut air. Not a deal breaker.
          2. I have the high viz flourescent orange which works well for me as it goes with my Orange crush Interceptor.😁
          3. The lining is entirely removable and is hypoallergenic.
          4. Being modular it gives me best of both worlds. Fit is good and comfortable.

          Go for it.
