200km for 7litres?? are you absolutely sure because my 250r only gives 25kmpl whereas yours is giving 28-29kmpl?! (agreed its still probably in running in period?)

it it is accurate then i congratulate you once again on a very wise purchase! i don't think there's any other bike in india which satisfies these 3 aspects!

            speed (>200kmph)
comfort (both for the rider and pillion)
            fuel efficiency (>25kmpl)

Agreed. It is definitely too optimistic. This is at 60-70 km per hr on GQ with minimal breaking and gear change. I will next try tank full to reserve method. Lets see.

Cant wait to ride around. It being the firstbike in Bhubaneswar just makes me more impatient. I still remember when I rode around my R15 3 years back apparently the first one in Bhubaneswar.

First impression by my brother as he visited the Hyosung showroom also and saw the GT650R in flesh: The paint quality and finish of N650R is much better and in a different league than GT650R. According to him GT fairing looks like an aftermarket modifications compared to finesse of Ninja.

Will keep on adding to the thread as I ride more.By the way I have asked him to carry one airfilter and oil as I plan to change it after he rides back here. Has anyone done first servicing .... I may need some help to do it myself.
                Congratulations,dude!!

We can meet up sometime during our xBhp G2G on Sundays!!

Many Congratulations!!! Brilliant initial mileage and that will decrease once you complete the run in period. Even if you manage to 20 kmpl that it good enough

With your riding style you should be able to get the best mileage amongst all N650R owners

                      • City Ride Mileage Check

The initial fuel efficiency on highway with optimum condition for mileage did return little uncomfortable kmpl I would say. I can understand if some are astonished, but the figures were real.

Now I did ride another 300 km ( 558km to 858km). 100 % city ride in high traffic. Fuel consumption of Rs 1150. That turns out to be 17.25 ltrs here. The mileage returned is 17.4 kmpl.

I guess a mix of highway and city should return around 20 kmpl.

Yeah right. A friend informed that he is getting 21.2 kmpl.
BTW, if one is getting as low as 17 kmpl when ripped then why not ride it the way it satisfies him...why would one restrict himself for getting those 2-3kms extra a litre.

                              • Took delivery a day ago. Registration not yet complete but here is initial impression

pics : VT-Concorde (nicknamed Momo) - a set on Flickr

                                - heat is considerable, could feel it after 5-10kms of ride though kept between 2-3K. not a botheration as of now since this is new engine.
                                - gear shifter orientation is absolutely no issue
                                - horn is tiny (good time to put stebel on the shopping list)
                                - exhaust sounds throbby (inside showroom it sounded more like new 4stroke rikshaw)
                                - at low speeds, brakes did seem to have a bite
                                - pillion liked suspension, its less hard hitting than 220F
                                lights need adjustments
                                - mirrors are also better than 220F, provide rear coverage even with riding jacket. though a little wider mirror would be great.
                                - riding stance is not as upright as it looked, still need to lean a bit

They always said that life changes in India after you bring home a superbike. Ninja 650R is not really a superbike but by Indian standards of commuter biking, it definitely is one.

Its been just two days that the bike has come home. Registration formalities are underway and I am already feeling the "Living with a Ninja Experiences".

People started approaching right at the showroom door and started asking price. Dad was zapped after knowing it. He couldnt believe that it costs that much. and then "You could buy a big car in that money!". The sweeper in the next building came running and insisted that I tell him the price.

One shop owner offerred me to park it inside his compound instead of parking on the road, without asking. Never happened in past when I parked P180 or P220F in front of this shop.

One guy on road, honked and gave thumbs up, then proceeded to tail for a while.

Met a guy at RTO, very excited to see "Ninja ZX 650". kept talking in english though I answered in hindi. He showed the "air cooler" to his partner, and then proceeded to tell him, "mere ko car me jyada knowledge nahi hai, lekin bike ka sab pata hai" (I dont know much in cars but I know everything in bikes)

Another guy : "isme silencer nahi hai?" (Doesnt it have a silencer?)
me (very innocently)": "nahi hai" (No!)

One fellow asked if he can sit and take a pic (I really appreciate these manners, as long as I can politely say No ). He took a pic and told me, "It would go on facebook now and your bike will be famous"

Two typical questions that deserve a placard to be put on bike with answers
                                - "Kitane ki hai?" (How much does it cost)
                                - "Kitana deti hai?" (How many kilometers a litre)

And thanks to the Daytime Running Light, people go crazy, drop their work and stand in middle of the road to tell that I am running with the lights on. This is accompanied with palm gesture similar to screwing a bulb in-out of its socket. I usually have my lights on so this is less of an annoyance now

Havent gone out since registaration is not completed, hopefully that happens next week. Till then it would stay parked More after that...
