Thanks Sachin, I have been following your threads here on xbhp and team-bhp. Both of them are extremely informative and have helped me a lot in nailing down on Ninja.

Can you please help us again, by answering these questions:-

        Type of Petrol
        Engine Oil
        Chain lube

          Hi

I picked up a ninja 650r last month fm KTM CP delhi, the wating period was less then 20 days, amazing bike extremely comfortable in the city as well as the expressway. The power and speed is too much to test on the indian roads, i would sincerely advice safe riding. The only problem is too many questions asked by other people on the road. It has never happened once till date that i have completed a ride without answering questions on the bike, kitney ki hai, average kya hai. The questions come fm bystanders on signal lights, autowallas as well as carowners.A little too much attention i would say. Go ahead and buy it.

Congrats Buddy...! Where in Delhi are you from ?

You also waiting to get hold of the left hand grab rail, same as me

This attention is sometimes a pain as-well, today only I was riding at roughly 70 kmph and a car came from the back, driver rolled the window down and signed for usual question "Kitne ki hai". I thought it was dangerous for both of us and was left with no other option but to twist the throttle.

To all Brothers who are taming the beast (break in period) how are u managing urself from crossing 4k rpm??
For me the bike keeps on tempting me to go beyond..when I am at 4k in sixth gear at time I feels it wishper to me "go ahead this is nothing for me"

Also do let me know if there is any 650 Bangalore group...

                Cheers

Same here bro its really very hard, to tell you the truth sometimes I may have crossed 4k mark as well but not by a huge margin(4-5 K). Another thing is, it is really annoying and irritating to keep and eye on the road as well as on the tachometer. Time to get some breaked-in engines

                    Hi

I am in noida (east delhi), yes i am waiting for the grab rail, checked it out at bagga link karol bagh they donot keep ninja spare parts. I have been informed there is a bajaj service centre in sector 2 noida "suman bajaj" will buy the grab rail when i take it for the first service. I have completed 500kms so the first service will be due this month. I have crossed the 4k rpm mark after completing 150kms and for the first time touched 8k rpm after 500kms. Very hard to resist and there is really no need to follow the break in limitations, just avoid running it for extremely long durations and remember to switch off on red lights or when not in motion. A new engine gets heated up a little more since rings and pistons are still finding space to settle down, therefore it is good to avoid overheating.

Pls let me know if there is a ninja 650 spare parts shop in and around delhi.

I am also eagerly waiting to remove that hideous saree guard but grab rail is currently out of stock in bangalore any idea if it is available anywhere near bangalore (Chennai Mysore etc) will go for a trip to buy one (good way of completing the 1000km run)

I want to make changes in the exhaust , this bike rides like a car I mean there is really no sound when u are riding it upto 4000rpm. Beyond 4000rpm it does sound good but the wind noise is already so much that u donot really enjoy the engine sound. I am still quite used to the thump of the classic crome 500 not that I wish to compare them in any way.
I believe there should be a muffler or some stuff in the ninja 650 exhaust which can be removed to increase the engine sound a little. I will check with the ninja service team of Bajaj during first service.

Hey buddy congrats for the purchase. I went to the CP showroom in mid sept. and the guys over there informed me for a display bike coming in to the showroom. I see the white ninja 300 is still there so are they displaying the ninja 650? In order to convince my better half for the purchase I need her to see it in the flesh (btw she is already in love with the ninja 300).

Engine Oil - Either use Motul 300V or Motul 7100. I have only used Motul 300V till date so cant comment on 7100.
Chain lube - I have been using Motul Chain cleaner and lube since day 1 of ownership. It tends to dry really fast. I have to lube the chain in every 500-700 kms

Thats great, Even I am staying in Sector-61 Noida. Lets meet up sometime.
OEM parts are only available through the KTM workshops, and they have to be ordered as these guys don't keep them in stock.

Even I want my beast to scream but the OEM exhaust is just not made for it, we will have to go for some after market exhaust system and also 2012-13 Ninja's I believe can not use the slip-ons which are usually cheaper compared to full exhaust systems.

Lets get in touch, may be then we can discuss over it.

Thanks Bro, I don't think you will find Ninja 650 as display bike anywhere its just the bike which are to be displayed are put in the showroom for people to look at. Last week I went to Karolbagh saw one of the bike standing at BaggaLinks Karolbagh adjacent to Hanuman mandir, may be you can try calling them and you might get lucky.
