I can understand using Nulon once assuming Dealer/SVC/ASC convinced you easily, but using it for 35,000 km is surprising.

How much did they charge you for this additive?
Since it was Dealer recommendation, i agreed for Nulon. They charged 140 plus tax. Will be more careful in future. Since you are staying in Judicial Layout there is a Suzuki Dealer in Yelahanka - True Value Suzuki which will be very near for you. Their Service is good. No extra charges. For example, Rajkumar Suzuki used to charge Rs.80 extra for Chain Lubrication which True Value Suzuki does not.

      This is great report.
      1lakh+ kms without engine overhaul.
I don't think the Uni/Xtreme/Hunk engines will last till 1 lakh kms however sanely they're ridden.

Wow!!! and I was thinking all bikes odo resets itself to zero after 100000 kms but its going as it is, one need to take care all the time of his bike to run it 1 Lakh kms even for the smallest thing and I think the more miles you completed with your bike the more you attached to it logically....

Untrue. If ridden sanely, the Uni/Xtreme/Hunk engine will last 1.5 lakh kms quite easily. They can often be stretched to 2 lakh kms also. I have seen many bajaj pulsars last 1.5 lakhs kms, but probability of breaking down earlier is higher in them.

To be honest, I haven't seen any of these bikes doing more than 1 lakh without cylinder rebore/replacement.

Odo Now crossed 1,06,248. Gave it to servicing. Slightly expensive servicing.
Replaced the Front fork oil, oil seal and springs, Costed 700 The Right Hand head light switch conked off, Costed 510. Engine oil and general servicing total bill came to 2,000/-. Took almost three days. Third day when I went to collect the bike, the head light swtich was not replaced and was told to come tomorrow.

When I went, the service advisor told the leave the bike and come in the evening. I have to yell and after 10 minutes of argument, they finally fixed the switch. It is a five minute job. Does anybody have the EMAIL ID of Suzuki Customer Service. I want to escalate this matter to Suzuki.

Replaced the front tyre costed 1,560/-, Rear Tyre 2,350/-,. Had been slightly expensive in the recent months.

              Back to munching kilometers

Wow. This bike really is bullet proof. 1L km on a bike in India is great whatever way you look at it. One more positive for the newly launched Gixxer IMO. Here I am hoping that my RTR will last 50K km without an engine overhaul

BTW, you mentioned in the 1st post that the bike does 65-70 around 5500-6000 RPM in 6th gear. Isn't that a bit too short? The RTR does 80 at 6000 RPM in 5th gear and I keep on looking for 6th all the time. I find the RTR's gearing to be short since 100 comes around 7500 RPM which is uncomfortable for highway cruising and the redline in 5th comes at 120 km/h. Is that a typo by any chance since according to what you mentioned, the engine will be spinning at 8500RPM at 100(which is very short) and you also mentioned that the gearing is tall.

Wishing your Gisser many more lakhs

I have seen 3 unicorns and 1 xtreme with 80000km plus odo reading. 1 out of those 3 was at 96000 odd kms. My friends fz16 is 71000 km old. Life of a bike depends on the way you maintan it....

My dad's Bajaj caliber has run for more than 1.46l kms without any cylinder rebore or replacement. It's still going strong. Give every bike atleast its required minimal maintenance and it'll show you what it's worth.

@TS wish you many more safe miles on your steed.

And another real surprise is- The Digital speedo hasnt given up. Thats speaks of quality...

Dont worry, it will easily go way above the mere 50K mark( Mine has done 57K till now without any trouble). Just get the Engine oil changed at 2.5K - 3K interval, and get the Engine Head decarbonization done at 45K Km odo... Ye, It definitely wont be as easy to maintain as a Suzuki or a Honda Unicorn. It needs a bit more attention.
My TVS Star City had done above 80K(without overhaul) before I sold it recently, and the Hero Honda Dawn did around 1.2 Lakh, before the first over haul.

Around 30k intervals. But from 0.9l kms, nothing has been done to it other than oil change, air filter cleaning and regular lubes.. It's running on synthetic oil for past 25k kms though First oil lasted more than 20k kms with still some life left. Now running on second oil change. Carb cleaning and tuning done around 30k kms back..

6000 rpm gs does 80km/h in 6th gear , but is smoothest , I have never heard of gs 150r engine overhaul in my ASC atleast , though GS150r are far lesser than other bikes on the road, but whoever owns one uses his bike at optimum, here there are many Gs going above 90K odo in span of 4 years , due to excellent fuel economy and comfort people us this bike liberally, infact GS 150R is going smother and smoother and silent as kms are clocked !!! I have covered 62k under 3 years on gs , didn't do service since last 20 months , only oil /filter change by myself, except for punctures I do not like any mechanic even looking at my roller coaster.
I will keep this bike for my next generation for sure

And take a bow for covering a lakh km.s within such a short time span.
