In pitch black with no street lights it becomes impossible for a 35w bulbs to illuminate the road properly otherwise they get full support from street lights which help us a lot in nights. Please don't mind but I feel you don't have much experience of night rides. Explore your city after 12, I am sure you'll feel like you are in different world...

@srikanth kvnap

Brilliant Review and Excellent pictures. Just want to clear one thing...Divya bhai told me in a post that new ZMR's pillion height is more than R15 but you are saying its less. Are you sure on this point or....???
Thanx boss. As far as I remember Divya bhai and I had clear point on the pillion height. R15 pillion sits in the 2nd floor. DivyaSharan the SUV incident u told me...

Very good short-term ownership experience Srikanth. (y)

I rode with Srikanth twice in 220-km trip to near by place. Couldn't get a chance to test the bike, as both the times it rained heavily and couldn't get sufficient time. Had I got a chance, I could have added more comparative analysis having experience with ZMA and ZMR. Next time, I am definitely going to ride it and will add more points to this review.

And nice clicks Srikanth.

PS: For a brief time I observed the headlight throw of ZMR, and though the beam throw is much better spread and even, its not definitely better for night rides. Lighting upgrade is definitely needed if you are touring. Comparatively my ZMA's light intensity is almost 50% better (with Osram NBP 55/60w bulb + relay setup).
Thanx Ravi anna, half of those nice cicks were you btw

And next time I will ride the classic ZMA... Never had the chance

I can't comment on that as I didn't sit on it. But, the height is definitely higher than ZMA and needs more body lifting to sit on it. Ladies might find it difficult to climb. As for the seat, its wide and soft, so after climbing, seat could be comfortable to sit for prolonged periods. Fortunately, Hero did fit the same kind of saree guard with proper foot rest, so ladies can sit one sided happily, though climbing might be difficult. Can't comment more than this.

Yeah but he didn't explained it properly. I really liked the way ravi has explained it even without sitting on it. I want to know exactly how it feel when a person sit on it in comparison to bikes like FZ, pulsar, karizma etc.

Nooooo!! I will not allow it; I don't want you to get wrong impressions above classic ZMA. My bike has vibes and slight knocking, and panel rattles due to a fall. Just morning I tuned the carb of a new Karizma (6k on odo) and it was soooooooooooo smooooooth. Will have to get my bike to that level some day.

Just observed my Karizma and then the new ZMR in pics. My conclusion is that the new ZMR has pillion seat around 4 to 5 inches higher than Karizma. Once you are able to sit, comfort should not be a problem, unless people have fear of heights.

If people can sit happily on FZ seat, sitting on new ZMR should be lot more comfortable with wide and soft seat with proper foot rest.

I am concerned about its height in comparison to other bikes. Size and space wise its looking more than enough to me.

i dont mind at all ....but indeed i did some rides at pitch black in my HUNK. that is the reason i asked him that question. infact i love to ride in pitch black dark and i hate when street lights come... . may be i willl click some pics in such situation so that i can show you what i meant actually.....

P.S : when i say pitch black, i meant you cant really see there is a person standing 3 steps away from u.

Glow will look bright but it will not be enough to light up the surrounding and hence you'll not be able to look far around which will affect your confidence. May be I dont have right words to explain that point but according to me srikanth is correct as I have also felt the same thing time to time on my SZR with 35w bulb which will be replaced very soon.

lol! Ravi anna, I have ridden the ZMA a lot of times.... so, I know how it is.... I just have never ridden the Classic KARIZMA - which had no R/ZMA blah blah attached...

In city, the light is sufficient except some parts.. I just stressed on this Night Vision art only because - ultimately, ZMR is a tourer... They have bettered the reflector design so, the throw is better than V1 but, still they have provided the same bulb?? That's one and I think the only area(IMO) where HMC has lagged.

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Also I wanted to add a wierd/funny point here...

When I was going through the xBHP forum before I booked the bike, there were so many people criticizing the High Front fairing. I don't remember the guy who posted this, but he said - "The High front fairing would help the rider in case of rain, the guy can duck on long stretch of road"...I am still confused whether he actually meant it or was sarcasm. But, Trust me I tried it for a Kilometer or two during my last highway and IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! . Ravi@17bhp is witness if he had seen it in the RVMs

PS: Ya! I got back-ache after that

Bro!! excellent review, and brilliant pics. The more i read your review and see your pics, the more i am tempted to just go and book the bike now itself. But i have to wait for couple of more months to get a new one. Until then will oggle at all these pictures at here and ownership thread as well.

Keep the reviews coming on more. Cheers

Congrats on the bike sir.

My friend also has a 2014 ZMR (White). One thing I noticed is that just the DRL's cannot be switched on. The bottom headlight also comes on. In your pics you have the DRL's running without the bottom bulb. Could you please tell me how to do it? I will inform my friend immediately. Thanks a lot!
