Blinkers are ok..ok as the gasket typically moves out of it's place sometimes..But Headlights getting fogged up is unacceptable that too for a new bike...Shows that the headlight beam isn't properly sealed.

Prolonged usage in the same state without a proper seal would deteriorate the reflector quality and most likely turn it to black. Suggest to take up with YASS.

It happens on my R15 too. Even on the meter console. But dries up by the next morning.
I never bothered about claiming warranty even when it was new.
But then, that bike costs1/3rd of this one.

Typically it shouldn't...Might happen if the beams aren't sealed well.

Just to give you an insight, a week back toured kerala from Coimby about 900 kms in drenching rain on a P 220, either the console, blinkers or the lights fogged up.

What a bummer. Did you take some pictures of them, as a reference? Just in case, you can make the dealer chaps to view them so that they can understand the inherent issues. or even perhaps, it can help fellow users identify here. Turn indicator fogging up lightly ain't no big deal, but headlamp fogging up, it is big deal. I would suggest get the indicators and the headlamp units replaced under warranty for good. Do keep a tab on the speedo console too, you just might never know.

BTW, can any owners please confirm, the headlamp assembly is a STANLEY one, right?

The headlight assembly is a non branded one. The fogging isnt "light", there are water droplets inside. Can I claim warranty?


Also, I just noticed, the entire front headlight cowl/housing/fairing is moving up and down slightly along with the vibrations of the engine idling. Its not vibes per se, the usual thrump @ idle. The fairing did not move before or I have not noticed it. The fairing does not move if I shake it. Can any others confirm?

Yesterday's ride was pretty harsh. It was proper downpour from 3PM to 1AM from Chikmangalur to Bangalore. The bike took a thrashing but did splendidly, no complaints. But I did notice low beam was kind of dim but dint identify the fault immediately. Went through a lot of potholes as they were covered with water, suspension dint let up once.

Warranty is applicable at all costs. Just take the pics in daytime, shoot a mail to the Cust. Care and also talk to the local service advisor.

Should be resolved in no time, if they're responsive.

I can see the STANLEY written on the headlamp unit, so I guess this must be Stanley manufactured. Irrespective of elements fogging, speedo, headlamp or indicators, you can get them changed as long as you are in warranty, you can also mention the vibrating part, and see what can be done, which you observed now which wasn't present before, hopefully by your theory.

Get it escalated to the ASS chaps, even if parts are in backorder, you get first priority when you get them.

Warranty is surely applicable.
This is bound to affect the reflector assembly in the long run. My bike has never fogged up like this.
Get it shown and demand replacement, like others are suggesting.

@Owners: Have you looked into protective accessories like:
1. Frame sliders
2. Tank pad
3. Swingarm sliders/bobbins?

With my bike's delivery around the corner, these are the ones I am primarily interested in.
Others like radiator guard, etc. are needed too.

I have ordered Frame Sliders from Puig for r3 through Lets Gear Up Bangalore. Comes around 9.5k (will be getting it by Wednesday). Swing arms sliders and bobbins are available at lets gear up.

The engine Oil costs Rs450/litre and oil filter is Rs 360. Will be doing the first service in few days. The bike will need 2.4 litre of engine oil.

I also have rode in heavy rain and no issues like fogging till now

The headlights are made by stanley which are seen in honda cars. The front dome vibrates a bit while idling. And about fogging , please do check up with SVC.

So rode my R3 for a good 1500 kms to Goa and back from B'lore. I must say that as I was super happy by investing money on my R15, same is the case with R3.

Took the NH4 while going and finally the wait was over when I saw the Chorla ghats starting. The bike is very much manoeuvrable, though not as much as R15, but quite good enough and I was riding with a pillion and it was my first time in the ghat roads with R3. The tires held up really well and I never lost my confidence on leaning. The pillion was sitting on my saddle bag, which made the person unstable at the back but still the bike felt rock solid at the corners which I really liked. Also did the Palolem-Canguinim, Karwar-Ankola and Honavar-Sagar ghat sections and to me till now it has been a pleasure in the ghat sections. So the question on tires is not a matter of discussion for me anymore, though I'm not sure how it'll do at the tracks.

I loved the torque of this bike, coming from R15, this is a very cherished area, and yes R3 delivers that with poise. At some hairpin bends of the ghat section near Jog Falls, I was actually doing it in fourth gear, yes the gear indicator is real helpful. I even upshifted while going up on a slope. Also, it is never tough to overtake even if you're doing 140+. Just wring the throttle and the bike responds.

The seating position is a wonder and even after a painful ride, not seating issue but a 400 km single lane night ride with heavy rains along with a pillion, and I was never tired. While going to Goa, I was doing 160+kms at a single stretch and it was like nothing compared to R15, though on which I've done 300+ kms at a single stretch but it did mention that to me by giving me mild backaches. But in R3 even the pillion was ok.

Brakes are really good which added my confidence on the bike and with heavy rains pouring down the bikes never scared me even under hard braking. Though they're not the sharpest in the marker, my R15 with steel braided lines has better braking, but they do their job really good and I was even doing hard braking to save the bike from some big potholes and brakes responded, and bike being very manoeuvrable, I was able to save the bike from all. While the bike is on move, the equal weight distribution on both the wheels really help to steer the bike the way you want to.

The looks, as per the people, is different. While I was returning back, I was accompanied by some of my close friends of xBhp B'lore chapter, saquib, Ron and Tapabrata. Tapa was riding his monstrous N650 but still my R3 is drawing more attention, maybe due to its headlight design, and yes I loved that attention from people.

So at last got the chance to run the bike in the rains on the B'lore - M'lore highway and boy it's so much stable. The bike feels really planted even on completely wet roads and yes I was doing more than 100 during that time and never did I felt any grudge from the tires as well as the bike.

Till now, as I said earlier, I'm super happy with the bike's performance on long tours, for which it's actually targeted to and I know my money is well invested.

Saw blue and silver R3 for the first time on the roads and it looks big and definitely not like R15 on the move as I had only seen it standing in the showroom.

And yes, it was grabbing all kinds of attention. I was quietly noticing all the attention it was grabbing from behind, I never overtook him. It looks amazing from the back.
