one of my friends took delivery of this bike.. found it to a good commuter
during delivery the service man at shreram attached connectors on the battery and added some gell to prevent corrosion on +ev pole on inquiring he said even petroleum gelly will be effective

on the sad part front forks were stickered shriram a bad thing to be done by an official dealer

Took the XCD 135 for a test ride.. no intentions of buying it but took it for a spin just for the heck of it.

        Liked it actually..

nice bike actually. good commuter, nice engine sound, nimble handling... and i did an easy halfclutch wheelie on first test, shocks are good.
horns are horribly feeble, gear lever is small, so tough to liftup for gearshift, has the all-down patter instead of one-up, four-down, plastics on handlebar same as that of discover i guess...
i personally didnt like the teardrop/leafy/whatever designed pilot lamps.

Have ridden the new XCD135 too. After a long time, Bajaj has come out with a very nice commuter bike. It looks nice, is sufficiently powerful and fast and still returns good economy figs. Plus the low price tag

OT: Has any one in Pune heard of that ad being heard on radio : Bajaj is claiming that if any one takes a test ride of the XCD135 and still goes and buy any other bike, they will refund the money / gift the XCD to him!

Is it so?? In the television ad, they are claiming to pay the price of the bike that we purchase after riding a dtssi 135. Good chance to get an R1??

I generally dont ride small capacity bikes...
But just for testing stunner , i tried bajaj xcd 135...

                        and mann-oo-mann...

i found it to be a stupendos bike and easily one of the smoothest engines produced by bajaj...

Slowly and gradualy, its a surety that bajaj is working leaps and bounds on there technical prowess....

I have seen (and own 2 and had close affinity with all the 4 gens) pulsar generations closely and know how smooth there engines have become from the days they launched classic pulsars...

Tail lights are easily one of the best in india...along with sexy indicators..

While riding, I just thought of ripping it a bit, but whoola I was already doing a strong 82kmphs......

And being a sub 50k bike for so many features and very good engine, its a very very good bike...for people who are looking at the right mix of power and milege...!

For hard core commuting, low running costs, longer life, good re-sale value and low maintainence, Hero Honda 100cc are best and have proven over decades. As far as XCD135, even I had a test drive, the bike is smooth like any 'new' Bajaj bike.
Bajaj launched XCD125 with lots of fanfare not just in India but also abroad, in less than 2 years Bajaj is crying that it was a strategic mistake, Bajaj should not experiment strategies on consumers in big way (*). We really don't know if the XCD135 strategy is correct or not

Mistake or not a mistake....XCD 135 is a really nice bike....atleast doesn't attract people just by virtue of a 10 year old brand image like HH

I wish it looked better. In a bid to make the bike look more butch or futuristic Bajaj seems to have messed up the looks. The front cowl is just plain ugly. Some curves would have been nice.
