Any improvement in mileage expected if we can install injector with finer nozzles like in the ZMR? Any such aftermarket injectors available?

^nope. Nozzles aint crude in the R15 to begin with
. They are the finest injectors in business. Down sizing an injector is like putting a smaller jet. What happens, you very well know.

Facing serious idling issues. The air idle screw fell off the bike ( due to high vibrations i presume ). And was thankfully found right below the bike. The screw assy was complete.
( i.e screw, spring, metal washer, and rubber o-ring ).
But now the bike refuses to idle over 1250 rpm. i have brought the C0 back to 0 from +2, but still the issue is persisting. If i try and reach 1400 rpm, the screw is out about 3 and a half turns, which will cause it to drop out again. ( When the engine has warmed up properly).
The bike is sputtering a lot, and the idling is not stable. I have parked it for the last three days, more so because i was busy enjoying the ninja. but now i need to fix her up.
Suggestions??? throttle body? Leakage from the o ring ? spring not putting enough tension on the screw to hold it in place properly?
Also a lot of carbon was present on the needle end of the screw. Is it normal?

Hey Joel, by any chance do you have the results of a stock R15 dyno test?Originally posted by Joel View PostNot entirely to all, simply coz once I start selling stuffs off the shelf, it will get copied and there will be cheap replicas/false claims etc soon and its all pure mess. I will however start selling stuffs, only on personal basis and on clear consent that the tech will remain privy. I know there are many out there who are waiting to pound on me, get my stuffs and start copying. Ofcourse they will never strike it right, but I aint gonna make it easy for them.
Lets see, I hope I'm proved wrong

Yes, I have the dyno results. Must say that its nothing impressive. Makes around 14bhp at the rear wheel. There is not much that you can expect from a small mill like this.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostHey Joel, by any chance do you have the results of a stock R15 dyno test?
I also have the Daytona kit dyno results preview and thats again another disaster. The bike makes less power than stock till 8500rpm and then there is a small spike of gain after 9000 and then its done. Nothing close to even 10% on the dyno.
The video that was posted on youtube of an R15 doing 150kph was coz it was running a severely short gearing and hence was able to achieve it.
We have tested a full Daytona kitted R15 (belongs to our forum member) on the v-box and the bike with the stock gearing did the same speeds as a bone stock R15. Infact the stock bike felt and was indeed more torquey.sigpic

Hmmm!!! Can you share the dyno results (the chart if you have it) with me. I have been looking high and low for the same but no one seems to have one. I have found a program that allows for calculation of shift points based on various parameters but it requires the dyno results to be fed in. Ideally I understand that I should put my bike on a dyno machine, but as you know where the hell can I find one over hereOriginally posted by Joel View PostYes, I have the dyno results. Most likely the brake kit is the problem. You'll know soon if it persists. Btw how was that 60K kms run R15. Bank manager in his 50s! Must be one well maintained slow ridden mint condition bike :POriginally posted by sheelpriyehttp://www.xbhp.com/talkies/522766-post12651.html
I did check my brake-oil level today. It was fine. So I think (as mentioned by you), the brake kit is the cause.
Got my service done.
300V
oil filter
The mid part of ball-racer changed.
drain plug nut changed
adjusted the rear fender
got irritated with punctures, so put in slime
muffler end cap accessory fitted.
Sampled a 60,000+ kms run R15. No issues and apart from consumables, nothing has been changed. (A Bank manager in his 50's having a commute of 150kms), despite camera, for got to click the odo

Don't worry you can continue to brake hard. Worst case if the problem does arise you'll lose the feel of the brakes to an extent but will still have similar amounts of braking available. Just in case you were worried..Originally posted by sheelpriyeI have stopped riding that way, but I have to be really careful next time around.
I still haven't come across many R15 with such issues. As most of my friends bikes haven't run more than a few thousand kms. And very rarely there are bikes in the svc with more than 20K kms on the odo here. Lets see the next time i'm there i'll check the bikes there, if any.
Is it? That's nice to hear :P As long as the bike's being run well it's good. 60K on stock bore is greatOriginally posted by sheelpriyeThe bike is in as mint condition as a 60K run should be (open parking)
He isn't riding slow though
and as per the mech, has good riding skills.
The max i've come across was a 45K run r15. It was poorly maintained and looked quite bad and was in the svc getting some work done on it. Couple of guys I came across on someone's wall on facebook had 60K+ and 75K run r15s.

I've nearly done 20k, and my brakes have lost the 'new bike's braking' wala feeling.
I think bleeding and a disc replacement are in order. My disc has a lot of grooves. Didn't clean it this monsoon.
Check for grooves. Even that causes a pulsing, or sometimes a weak brake feeling.
And if you release and pump again (while you're braking), does the brake start feeling stronger again? You get the point?? :D
