No I have not tired any sealant. Yes its a major drawback, I Hope that RE gives an alloy as an accessory. Even if it costs a bit more i'm sure many are willing to buy.

        Hey Guys,

As promised, update after 1st service, the bike stopped working :/
Not sure how they managed to take a almost perfectly working bike and screwed it up. It was functioning normally once I took it back today after the service but that was short lived, like less than 4km and then it stalls at 4k rpm on 3rd gear in the middle of the road. Luckily there was no traffic on that bit and I could push it to the side of the road.

I thought it might have been something I did but then the bike dint start and the engine light was constantly on, I switched it off and waited for a while and then it started again but this time it stalled after like 10 meters, I dint want to take a risk so I pushed it back to the parking lot and called the RE service engineer.

He actually came personally and gave me his Himalayan and took my bike and said he will check on the issue and get back to me. Well only time will tell if my buying RE was correct.

The bike might be great but if the "Authorized Service Center" is bad, well god save the company! I hope this is a one off case and they fix it without any juggad.

I do appreciate the fact that the SVC guy came down to my office post his work hours to help out. Fingers crossed! The bike should be back at RE for inspection.
        Will keep you guys posted.

          Update:
The bike is fixed now, apparently, it was some sensor issue that crept up because they pressure washed the bike.

In that case, what's going to happen in heavy rains!

                Hello Guys,

Back with my two bits on Interceptor 650 (Rode 700 Km in last 15 days). Two short (100-150 km rides) and city use etc.

I am not going to list pro/con as we have read the thread and it pretty much covers everything in my opinion.

However, I am making following mods to my bike:

                1. Move handle bar an inch closer towards rider (I am 5'6" and I wanted up-rightish position to ride).
                2. Seat is a big pain. And getting it reshaped. Pillion seat will have to rise by at least 20cm. This will give me much needed lower-lumber support and comfortable seating posture for pillion.
                3. Top Rack + pillion back support. With pillion seat raised by about 20cm and back support on Top rack, length of seat will increase by about 3-5 inches, much needed for pillion.
                4. Wind shield: The one I got fitted as part of interceptor kit, is not adequate. In fact, wind hits between my chest and neck!!. I will have to change windshield to something larger/longer. Alternatively I may also get windshield extension which should do the trick. I can use RE windshield and put on extension when I go for long rides.

I got my first service done which costed me 2700 Rs in Ahmedabad.

However, I would could have avoided 250 plus 28% GST on Chain cleaning and oiling. I should have done it at home. If you have cleaner and lube kit at home, please DIY. I think they over lubricated chain and both chain cover and real wheel had to take some serious oil stains. It is pain to get that thing out!

Problem: Sealing on Connector / cable connection - Front ABS

Wire-Connection between front Tyre ABS switch that runs from handle bar to break is poorly concealed. It is easy to spot, Tubing through which this wire runs is very loose and water can easily slip into it. I asked service center to fix this by putting up some insulation tape. Of course, they did not, so I did.

Friends who have been complaining about electrical mal-function, I think poor cable-end-concealing is the devil.

Also please avoid power jet cleaning instrument cluster, it is bad practice.

Just got a call from my S.A. he tells me that my bike has arrived and asked me to start the payment process. He promised delivery by 6th of this month. I'm excited. Let's see how this goes.

This is their common practice, the reason why I always tell them not to clean/lube chain during service for my bullet. They over-lubricate and it later makes the rear rim a mess.

Got my first service done today. Total bill of Rs. 2580/-. I was asked if chain cleaning and lubrication needs to be done to which I politely denied having cleaned and lubricated the chain just a few days back which ended up messing up the rear rim. The servicing was done within a couple of hours.

Issue seen in this video is the same thing that happened to my bike after 1st service.

Congratulation bro. When did you book your bike? What color did you choose?

I took delivery of my bike today and drove it in peak traffic to the temple for the puja.

                                Initial thoughts:

                                1) The bike is just a bit heavy, but the wave of low-end torque makes it up for that.
                                2) Need some time getting used to the foot pegs while moving the bike.
                                3) The bike does heat up, but it's manageable.
                                4) Total sleeper no one notices until you open the throttle.
                                5) The unhinged fuel cap is a pain in the a**
                                6) 60-70kmph is nothing for the bike.
                                7) The motorcycle pulls cleanly on any gear.
                                8) Gearbox is a delight to use almost Japanese bikes level stuff.
                                9) Surprisingly nimble in traffic you can flick the bike once you get in tune with the dynamics.
                                10) Although the exhaust looks bulky and ugly, it sounds pretty decent.
                                11) Need to pull back the handlebar by an inch.
                                12) The suspension does a decent job not too stiff or too soft.

Didn't take many post-worthy photos as the delivery area was too crowded. I'll post some later this week.
