Can we install BS3 switch? The INT650 mechanic in showroom told me it is not possible due to this being an EFI model and slight variations in electric current may impact ECU.

    Anyone installed a BS3 switch?

I second this, gaiters not only looks cool on the 650 they also helps to protect the fork seals and tube from dust n debris.

And the sump guard is a total waste of money if you are not planning to take the bike to any serious offroading ( off roading on this machine really?! 😬).

You can get the engine sump guard, it is very easy to clean due to it's smooth surface

Thanks Mate. Is it a Plug and Play or do we need to slice any Wires?

If anyone is interested in getting a tank pad which doesn't scream for attention, is small in size and gives protection, one can opt for Pulsar tank pad, costs 80₹ only and looks good, well to me it does. Click image for larger version

                    Royale Enfield Road Side Assistance

Today I had my first puncture; only yesterday I watched one of the YouTube review that reminded 650’s tubeless tyre with tube and the trouble I am going to get in case of a puncture. But say the truth it was like a walk in the park, thank to RE Road side assistance. It is like cancelling a flipkart order the whole process was simple and fast.

A short history (skip if you are hurry)

I was on my way to vet clinic with my wounded kitten on my back pack, 25 km away from my home. I was hurry (60-80-100km/hr.) and the NH 46 was like semi on and off road with craters and channels. I felt slight wobble while cornering, and all the blogs about the wobbling issue just passed through my, i side standed the bike well the front tyre was almost flat, man the tyre was really hot could barely touch, never knew tyre can be this much hot, thank god I was at 20 km because of the corner, just slowdown from 90km. Well after 10 min of “what to do” Dialled the showroom and got RSA number, but didn’t bother to call instead I rode the bike in second gear to a puncture shop about 1 km away and returned but again the air was leaking so I parked the same location. Continued rest of the journey on bus, at 4.30pm I returned from clinic, my plan was to call a pick up and take the bike to showroom. While walking I made a call to RSA just for a try I wasn’t expecting anything rather than getting a replay like “sir please take it to the nearby service centre”, that’s what the showroom guy told me, but to my surprise I was back on wheel within an hour from the time of call.

                    Experience with RSA
                    Time 4.30 pm
                    RSA no 18002100007
                    For Hindi 1 English 2
                    For RSA 1 other 2
Leh ladakh 1 other location 2 (they have separate team for leh ladakh)
                    Interceptor/ GT 1 other 2

                    Connected to CSE
                    Few question asked
                    1. What happened
                    2. Bike number
                    3. Km on odo
                    4. Centre stand is fitted
                    5. How far from home
                    6. Exact location
                    7. Land mark
                    8. The guy tracked my location and confirmed then and put me hold for two minute
                    9. Back again, got reply “sorry for the breakdown, but don’t worry service man is on the way and they will do the job” I only had to pay the puncture repairing cost.
                    10. At 4.40 I got the message with contact number of RE service men
                    11. Got call from RE service men, confirmed the location and assured they are on the way
                    12. They reached at 5 pm removed the tyre in 5 min took the tyre
                    13. At 5.25 came back with repaired tyre paid Rs100 puncture repairing cost
                    14. At 5.30 pm, I am back on the road reached home at 6.30 pm

Man that was so nice, never had such experience, RE should market more about RSA to customers. No one from showroom told me about RSA in detailed. Thanks to RE so much to improve but still “Royale Enfield far from home”.

******Well overall 5 star rating to RSA from me*****
Found one more reason to like my bike.

NB: the whole time my little kitty was on my backpack in a woodland shoe box

Gordon, i also searched a lot didn't find anything bro , so i carry two spray bottles,3M's car wash and a bottle of diesel in my briefcase. Bottle 1 i use diesel mostly for

cleaning rear swing arm and wheel as you know it get very messy by chain lube. bottle 2 i use diluted 3m . First i clean the greasy parts then spray 3m wait for 5 min

wash and again spray 3m and slightly massage all over and then wash of, it cleans pretty much everything except some dot on exhaust, something like drop of tar or

something which i scratch and remove using nail or knife edge. Bit time consuming but cost effective .

                      good-luck

That tar on the exhaust pipes is the chain lube, you can use kerosene to clean it off, even the rims and the swing arms can be cleaned using kerosene, it is very cheap and effective

Test rides done and I have almost made up my mind to buy the Interceptor.

Few points that I would like to get some thoughts on:
                            1. BS6 Engine: Siddartha Lal said BS6 models shall be available from Jan 19. Does it makes sense to wait 3 months for new engine and hopefully some updates on the present bike.

                            2. Bike performance in Heavy Traffic: Since this will be primary vehicle, how bad are things in Mumbai / Bangalore traffic during peak hours. Heat, weight etc.

PS: I shall be upgrading from Duke 200.

It is always good to wait for the BS6 version. The newer emission norms may result in a bit reduction in power (my speculation based on hearsay). So if you wait then fine else go for it.

It all depends if you are buying it with an intention of selling it off in future.

If it is a collectible then take the plunge right away.

I don't want to hide the tank with a big tank pad, the smallest one i found was the pulsar one, it's really small, isn't it noticeable and does it duty. I keep my bike and specially the tank really shiny, don't want to hide it with a tank pad. And moreover all the tank pads are for for sporty bikes, haven't found a proper one for GT
