Ok, the characters you have mentioned are reminiscent of my 2015 Duke390 that's why I thought so.

Hello guys , back at the thread after a very long time , not getting much action in riding department too, odo is still under 2.5k kms. Please guide me to anything important if i missed it.

        "Another update from Royal Enfield,"
gave my Sirius for six monthly Compulsory general check up as the second service is at 12 months or 10k kms interval.
All bolts are important stuff was checked, chain was lubed without any cost, DOL tool was run and data was checked from ecu via obd port for any error codes.

        "And now the important update."
Royal Enfield has released a magnet kind of part to be place inside the tank near the fuel pump to collect any metallic dirt or rust particles floating in the fuel ( this is what the SA told). The magnet is strong and is held in place only with the magnetic force no bolts were used. RE has issued this part as regular update and part is made available with the particulars of owner and chassis number at the regular service stations. Owners would get calls from service centers as and when the part arrives for their particular motorcycle. Mine is the the first Interceptor to get this from this service center.

All this including general check up was done FOC.

Meanwhile I tried my hand at fixing the puncture at home for the very first time on the tube type tyre. Did ended up pinching the tube while re seating the tyre on the rim but learned a lot . Made two videos on the same.

Made these video so that others would know the process. The following tools were used , all locally sourced.

He he he , not like that brother here mostly they refuse to open rear wheel with disc brakes and most guys now prefer to work in tubeless tyres.

                  Hello Guys,
The bike has done 10k and done with the second service. Now i need to get my rear tyre replaced as it is almost bald. The option's known to me (road biased) are Pirelli Phantom and Metzeler Lasertec in stock size.
Also, was checking regarding Pirelli scorpion trail 2 - 150/70 r18 - Weather it would be possible to use Scorpion without any modification?
Also, please share review on Metzeler Lasertec if anyone is already using it.

                    Tyre bald at 10k ??
Either these is something wrong with your bike or you must be doing burnouts and drifts a lot.
10k is too less for a tyre to be bald IMO.

150 section on the stock rim would be Overkill and mess up the speed sensor readings. Go max one size up. On the stock rim the width is less so the 150 section won't get the proper round shape on shoulders and eventually become flat from center contact patch , giving a false illusion if wider tyre but the shoulder grip would be compromised.
Stock 130 section is good enough to lean the bike to its maximum available lean Angle without losing grip.

Keep stock as an option, metzelers lasetec has very few reviews , you can also look for perilli sports demon.

And yes few riders have exhausted the rear at 10k kms you must be riding hard and fast.[emoji16]

Do not stand on the wheel with the disk rotor under it.

You could replace tube by breaking bead only on one side.

For for slightly longer Irons's, you can get motorcycle specific variant's for about 120ísh.

                        Kudos on DIYíng.

Hey!!! i was facing the wobbling issue and they had replaced the front tyre at 6K. The bike was taken to service center quiet many time for checking the alignment and always the measure was within limits. Still there is some wobbling in uneven roads in a speed between 80-90 but far less than before so i am living with it.!!
And NOO! i would never do burnouts on my brand new Baby!!..But i wasn't kind to her on the Highways either!!

Sports demon is also H rated tyre so should work fine , know i few guys using it on gt535 and are happy with it.

On the wobble , i too have that at just 80kmph very minor but yes it is there. My SA is looking into it. But i am not particularly bothered about it seems like almost every bike has this at some speed or other it is even reported by owners from abroad.
Could be a issue with oem lot of perilli. I will be putting my wheels in balancer at my friend's shop soon to cross check the thing.
The wobble in my case has only started after 1500kms.

And yes you are right we paid for the fun.

Thanks , and yes i was careful while standing on the tyre, didn't put much pressure on the disc. Longer irons would be helpful but hard to carry on rides.
Need to break the bead in both sides as the tyre is very strong on side wall, heck it is even hard to come off on the machine.

Beautiful job there, Inder. You did quite well for a first timer. To point out just misnomers.

1.If possible always use an old sack or a carton box underneath the wheel when doing the repair. Helps prevent rim and lip scratches.
2.Always, always make sure you keep the rotor side as up as possible. The rotor is pretty strong, but the ABS tone ring, can in fact get nicked and bent and your ABS signal would throw up in your dash.
                                3. I see you were slipping with the tire here and there, unnecessary waste of muscle power, in that case, rest the tire towards the wall and slowly work your way, this way, the tire stays in place without moving, and all your torque output goes to the tire repair and not fighting it moving here and there. It's tiring, don't ask me how I know that.
                                4. The tube pinching is due to tube not being pressed fully, it can sometimes get locked with the tire rod while installing and rip the tube, rendering it useless. So, make sure the tube is pushed all the way in and when you're rodding, you rod only the tire bead.
                                5. Get yourself a rubber mallet and this thing is very handy for such instances. It helps you tap the sides of the tire with force, yet soft enough for the tire to squeeze inside the rim.
                                6. Fantastic job.

                                Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                                THE END
